This 5-7-5, It Is Finished, has the right set up and reminds the readers that God sent His one and only son to die for us....

Hard to fit such powerful meaning and vivid imagery in such a short poem but you managed to do this and more great job with this poem. It really packed a punch and made you think.

I regret I have used up my sixes. This is quite an astounding piece of work and you have done it well. There is no way to adequately put words into a review for this. The picture was a perfect choice, painful as it to look at. Your author notes said it all. Great job.

"It is finished", is short, succinct and very much to the point. Jesus death was for all of us. Woven between these short lines, are the golden threads of truth. This is definitely a six. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Too true, they gave Him 99 lashes, it was believed 100 would kill a person. I'm sure many died from the 99. Then having your raw back against rough wood. We have no idea of the pain He suffered. And then they give him gross wine when He's thirsty. Couldn't even be decent then. He did it all for us, so hard to believe. I have never felt I deserved it. But He does. Well done.

This is a very true and very well worded 5-7-5 poem you wrote about before Jesus was named to the cross. The picture says so much too.
Please check the first line where you wrote: sour wine received - 4 syllables
You need one more syllable to make it 5 .
Maybe sour wine was received?
Please check this my friend! Great job! love and blessings, Teri

Worthy is the Lamb of God. Stars for you and Jesus. *******
Wonderful photo. I feel we need more of Jesus and less of
this slander of the government. We are seeing true colors.
This is from heart to heart -- The vinegar wine was offered to Jesus as they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. Hyssop was of extreme significance to the Jews, because it would remind the Jews of the first Passover night when each household among the Israelites in Egypt slew a perfect lamb and put the blood on the doorpost so that the death angel would pass over the houses of the Israelites. Moses had commanded the Israelites, Ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning (Exodus 12:22). It was the blood of the Passover lamb that saved the Israelites from death. On the cross, the perfect Lamb of God gave His life's blood to save mankind.
His last words from the cross were It is finished. Jesus came to serve and to carry out the will of the Father. In His life, ministry, and death, He perfectly fulfilled the will of His heavenly Father, and made the perfect sacrifice for mankind. Angels before the throne of God praise Christ's sacrificial love, Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing (Revelation 5:12).
God bless you always. **************** flylikeaneagle

Precious Linda, I am sure Jesus is smiling at you as you treasure Jesus in the word and sharing his love. I enjoy TBN, read the word, and read Elijah List. TD Jakes and Creflo Dollar are my favs. Joyce Meyer tells it how it is - enjoy every day. Don't know why love one another turns into slandering others. What influence is happening to our youth with bullies in control??? Yes, prayers and more prayers are being spoken.
I prayed for new beginnings at our high school. Did a Jericho walk 8 days around the school. Now, new administration is on staff. My daughters were bullied at school. I prayed with Moms In Prayers and with my dogs. God listens.
Linda, thanks for being my sister in Christ. flylikeaneagle - nancy xox

any claim to love Jesus, but few honor him in the way that he asked us to. Do we love God with our whole minds, body, strength and might? Do we treat our neighbor in the same manner that we ourselves want to be treated. Do we honor the father with exclusive devotion, not sharing our worship of him with any other deity? These are important questions that we as individuals must answer for ourselves. If we cannot satisfactorily answer these questions based on bible principals, we are only fooling ourselves when we say that we love and appreciate the sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf.
