A fun fantasy story. Easy to read and follow. I stayed engaged beginning to end. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. No edits or adjustments necessary.

Thank you so much, Freda. This is the second story and I have to make it as much fun as I did the last one, or Eric will be on my tail! lol. I hope you enjoy it; thank you for your encouraging words, my friend. :) Sandra x

Well done on publishing your book, and more importantly that Eric is pleased with it. What an encredible gift for a child to encourage them. I'll bet the start of this story, is filled with time travel, the Arapaho Indian horse, is a blast from the past. Well done, Sandra, blessings, Roy

Yes, you have it in one, another time-travel story, I can't get away from them, lol. Thank you, Roy, for your kind words, I hope you enjoy this story now that you know an English lad is coming to America to a time before you, and your parents were born. Make sure you pick me up if I make some terrible gaffs! Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

Awe, Sandra, this is so unfair. I don't have a six to give you. I'll have to start saving them. I'm so glad to read about Eric and Herbie commencing their new adventure. What a lovely boy Eric is. Big hugs. Ulla xxx

The beginning of what will surely be an enthralling adventure. Such a modern story, a boy and his alien drone!
A few comments for your consideration, Sandra:
I think you meant to write "Oy" not "Oye"
Eric was barefoot at the beginning of the story. So either mention that he put his shoes back on or let Herbie land on the soles of his feet.
"Hello, boy" when Eric addresses the horse
Would Eric know the meaning of Arapaho when Herbie scanned the arrow? Should Herbie explain?
Suggest "The horse didn't even blink" instead of using "he" to avoid confusion
Both Eric and the horse had moved since Eric first approached. So, in the para beginning
"Standing beside him ..."
Suggest
"Eric waited impatiently, stroking the horse's neck."
Requesting a most benevolent outcome for your dear grandson's progress. My 10 year old grandson is making valiant efforts to cope with ADHD symptoms.
Blessings Julia

Hi Julia, thank you so much for your really helpful review. I've made some changes now, and the shoes are taken care of! LOL, thank you for that. I've also added a bit about the Arapaho Indians, but more will come out about them later in the story. Your review is just what I needed, thank you. :)) Sandra xxx
We both have amazing grandsons, Julia, they deserve all the help we can give them. I also hope your dear grandson progresses well. It sounds like he is much like mine, he has a strong desire to get through his little 'problem' (as Eric calls it) and come out a winner! And, of course, they will! Big hugs, my friend. xx

Yes Sandra. Our grandsons are the best. I haven't written stories for my grandkids yet. So your work is a great inspiration.

Oh, it is great to see Eric and Herbie paired up for another mystery. You leave us with a good cliff-hanger. Surely anyone who has read this will be back for more. I certainly will anyway.

I am working on getting my novella into shape. I wonder if you have this problem, probably you are less likely to with children's books, but I think one needs to keep FS 'chapters' short as posts while the real chapters would be much longer in a printed novel or an ebook. What would be your opinion on that?
-
My Trilogy had between 1200 and 1500 words in them. Some times it was hard to find the right place to stop and I would go on until I did. I never had a problem with that. Once you get your regular readers for the book, they will read whatever length you write, within reason, at least that's what I found. My chapters in my published books are two FS parts. I've kept the three books with the same chapter length and they worked well. It's different with Eric's books, they have short parts ending on a cliff-hanger. Good luck. xx
-
Thank you. My posts vary between 900 to 1400 words and my chapters will involve several posts.

That's perfect. I look forward to reading it. :)) xx
