This piece confuses me a bit. Is it flash fiction? I think that if that is the case there is no building up of the tension or scene. It is very telling and not showing. It provokes nothing in me as a reader.

Yet, they killed him. Ironic and Interesting! Perhaps they hated killers who beat and kill women.
Regardless, the story has a strong plot and character development.

I think you could develop this out a bit better and a longer piece could serve better. It's sort of simplistic into the reasoning why, especially given how many folk in prison are there precisely for this kind of thing. At present it's a little slight and convenient.

THis is not surprising. Weapons are easy to come by in prison. They make them or have them smuggled in, and I don't think the guards care. When troublemakers are killed, it's less for the guards to deal with.

That's the way things used to be in the old days when prisoners we found out doing things to women and children They would find them out and kill them saving the tax payers money.
