This is excellent, Tony. Your word choices enhance sentences, which flow along from start to finish. You've brought in nuances that are interesting bits that make the happenings realistic for the reader (pigeon on table at cafe, waiter's reaction to prepay, horse cart and driver, and so on). A very well-written chapter and a little spy work that seems to be quite a dangerous endeavour, it doesn't seem like Helen is willing to co-operate with the people she has a meeting with.

I love your style of writing. I also like the font you have chosen. Have to check the fonts out and make a note. One of the other FS'ers uses this one too. No spags. Great story. You keep us riding along and I love all the detail of the location etc. Not sure of the era of the story but you mention some modern transport modes I think. Excellent car chase, Tony, and I loved the bit with the old man, that was wonderful. I haven't a 6 left again, you must post your next part on Sunday!! A magnificent car car chase starting with knocking over a cyclist and ending with those two superbly apt gestures from the man on the cart. Then we appear to have witnessed abduction. With echoes of poor Jamal Khashoggi's recent disappearance rattling round my brain, I begin to feel concerned for Helen's safety. At least we have been spared twelve Arabs with bone saws etc. in full view - for the present anyway.

The tension mounts.

Thanks, Jim. I think Helen is safe from the bone saws at the moment. She's still too useful to the story alive. However, who knows what her eventual fate may be?

I love the interaction between the gentleman with the horse and the driver of the car, as well as the details on the waiter and ordering coffee - really adds to the scenery of the piece.
