Splendid post. It's a wonderful exchange between the characters when a reader can happen along and hunger for the backstory as well as savor the moment when the next comes about. I found no SPAGs or mechanical nuances that detract from its power. When skimming the other review, I noticed a comment about capitalization of Mother. It's my understanding that when used as a common noun like all mothers should... or give this to your mother... then the rule of thumb is no caps. When it is a substitution for a name or as a title where a name would fit, then it's capitalized. Papa values Mother, I believe is correct. You could easily substitute Homer values Marge. (I don't know Papa's or Mother's given names so Homer and Marge will have to suffice here)

I only noticed one little thing, but any edit helps to perfect it, I always love edits, lol
Papa values Mother." I'm not sure, do you need to capitalize 'mother' here? I wouldn't have, but sometimes it varies from country to country like spelling and the way we pronounce things with fewer or lesser syllable, does my head in with poetry, lol, being an Australian, we notorious for lowering syllable counts.

I don't know if it should be capitalized or not. I did it because we capitalize it unless if has a my or something before it. I will wait and see what other reviewers say. Thank you for the kind review.

Grammar is never my strong point, I have Grammarly and love it, well worth it as a writer, and you can set it to novels and different types of writing genres.
