Hi Gypsy; thank you for sharing this well formed haiku. The presentation works so well - and the photo truly enhances your words. I had to laugh at the satori - 'affordable housing.'

Well done,

~patty~

Hahahahaha!
Me thinks someone might have affordable housing for herself on her mind, dearest Gypsy.
Call it a hunch, heh-heh.
This is truly a cute little haiku, and so well composed as per your usual.
I got a good chuckle outta this one!
A very nice take on this week's Haiku Club challenge, MariVal.

Yes, Gypsy, affordable housing, indeed. This is a delightful haiku for summer. I love, once again, how you named a specific place--Santa Cruz--instead of using the generic term "beach," which could be anywhere. This is like classic haiku in that it is site specific. Your words evoke images of children at play building sand castles. Your satori is clever and made me think about the housing crisis and homelessness.

Thank you for sharing.

This is a very humorous poem, MariVal. It made me smile.
I guess we have all enjoyed making sandcastles as children.
Of course, this could also be interpreted as social criticism, although I don't know if that was your intention.
Thanks for sharing.

It is probably the only affordable housing there:) I know homeless sleep on the beach sometimes but don't have shelter.

Great haiku - nice satori.
