Wow. A dramatic tale. I can only imagine the surprise it was to find out someone thought to be a mortal enemy in fact secretly cared for you. It's sad that it took death to bridge this gap, however I'm sure there were deeper reasons for than any reader would / could understand.
As always, your work evokes strong emotion. Thank you for sharing, and I will look forward to reading the sequel - Cheers!

This one is going to be good, but I feel sorry that there will be very little of the 50k left at the end of it all

Hi Freda; thank you for stopping by to read and review. I think I may need to rewrite and increase that to $100K - she needs to supply round trip airfair for quite a few people AND book a block of hotel rooms for at least two nights for about 35 people. Oh, and then there's the buffet for after the memorial!
Anyway, I should have the next part done and posted before I leave for Virginia at the end of the week,

This story I read all the way through with no difficulty. It motivates me to read more. It was entertaining about a difficult subject. It is very well written. It was excellent.
I kind of New before that the letter was about a death. It was foreshadowed. And when we found out more we wanted to find out more.

I'm glad Kathy simply forgets the bad vibes, takes her phone and begins to dial.

The story certainly kept my attention. The letter was a nice touch. There is certainly a great deal more to be learned about all the characters, but it was a very nice scene. The story moves along quickly (I'm new to the site so I'm still getting used to the rapid story pace and reading scenes versus chapters).
I thought the personal thoughts interspersed with the letter was a nice way of presenting background and it worked well. I do feel that the personal narration may have revealed a little too much, making it seem a little like forced background instead of actual thoughts passing across her mind.
