Excellent write, JJ. I truly enjoyed reading this beautiful mixture of alliteration and rhyming in meter. It made for a very easy-going cadence, and a smooth even flow. Thanks for sharing a wonderful read. Brooke should love it, along with your genuinely heartfelt author's notes.

Nicely done. --Dean

    Hi Deano,
thanks for your very kind, and let me say... calming review... there was a easy confidant feeling within the words that shared the reason why we all wanted to be involved in showing and sending Brooke our love... I did get to read your brilliant counting tribute... don't know how many times I've told Brooke they are amongst my favorites... but alas, pain has been a constant nag, so I have been caught in a haze for the past month... no, no need to go into the reasons, but I will get to you as soon as I can... and hopefully some other gems of the ruby-blood words you compose with thick and sticky flow...smile))))))))... be well my friend.

    With our thoughts we create,
    healing love,
    James.

Jumbo J: I like the images that you write especially the movement of water. I like the brooklet word too. The single drop of water to sprout and grow a tree, really takes time. Brooke is amazing and needs our prayers. We need to circle around her and appreciate her talent. We are like drops from the Brook. Well written.

    Hi my feathered friend,
I am truly grateful that you capture my intended movement of the flow and water within my words... thank you for a truly wonderful review and all the heartfelt sentiment for why we all got so involved with sending Brooke our love through the words we feel for and about her... and yes, we are, all of us, just a drop in a Brook finding its way to the collective source of our energy... thank you, most appreciated!

    Hey Bro,
    how's that love-bug been bitin' ?

Thanks for the glow in my day Brother, you're a true gentleman of class.

Sorry if I've been a tad spasmodic, my injury's flared up, and well, at present there's no end result in view... and really for the past month I've been stuck in this pain induced haze... and I'm not one for too many tablets of pain relief... so I've been flittering on and off when life allows it... yeah missing a lot, so I'm really sorry for that... hope you're well my Brother... and I know we will both do our best to send our Queen Bee the loving healing energy she needs... always appreciation to a man I respect.

    With our thoughts we create,
    love and healing
    James.

    Hi Lor,
sorry it's taken a time to get back to you with a reply to such a beautiful review... I am truly grateful and only wish our good and valued friend a quick and total recovery... a very special woman who has helped, nurtured and given to most every writer on site in some way or another... either through her reviews, her magic poetry, but also the selfless time she gives in spreading her knowledge and wisdom through site classes and tuition... yes, a very special woman and talent.

So, thank you, my beautiful and wonderful friend... wrapped to receive your highest praise.

she's the first one I got to know here also. I think she makes a point of being there for everyone that joins on that day. I hope she is recovering from whatever it is that has her sick.

WOW! You wrote an incredibly thoughtful, emotional poem with such quality details. I felt cold and lonely, yet safe and comforted at the same time. It's an intense journey. All the water references feel like tears that cleanse; bitter sweet hardships that lead to hope. Very powerful in a delicate way.

EXCELLENT! I reckon Brooke will enjoy reading this one.
My favourite part:

A stream turns to river; a river to the sea,

Yet a single drop of water can sprout and grow a tree.

Hi, J! Thanks for sharing this. You really do have a talent for poetry--and pun--in this lovely and clever tribute to Brooke, the play on words present from the title on. It's wonderful you're dedicating a whole book to her; she's touched yours and so many lives.
I love the themes and metaphors present here, of the brook (Brooke) and water as a source of life and power. Very nicely done and creative.
Your rhyme scheme also works very well, the rhyming couplets.
You have nature imagery throughout that also connect to the theme of life-nurturing.
Minor considerations for revision (there are no major):
I think it should be "much-loved," hyphened, in the last stanza.
You might also rethink
"storm 'n' squall"
and "rocks 'n' snags"
These have associations, for me, of food/fast food ("fish 'n' chips," etc.)
Why not simply "storm and squall" and "rocks and snags"? I know there is the consideration of meter, but "and" is reduced in speech in any case and already pronounced more like "n" than "and."
Overall works very well, very creative:)
Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Stacia Ann,
now, you must be English or an Aussie to have the fish 'n' chips phobia alive... smile)))))))))))... but yes, you were right, it was a meter thing to try and create the visual of flow in context of that particular verse... just to switch it up with the water theme.

Sadly I am ashamed to say that I don't know the true originator of Brooke's book of wellness... but now I will definitely search that piece of information out to thank that thoughtful soul for creating such magic way to send wishes of wellness to a woman that excels in such an art form.

Truly though, I thank you for the comprehensive review and comments... yes, even the suggestions... the sign of a good reviewer... not just handing out platitudes and stars to appease, but real thoughts and view... most appreciated!

Cross rocks 'n' snags and snaking path...

And storm 'n' squall and aftermath. .. I like these lines, James. There's a modern, slang-y sort of feel to them that's quite refreshing.

Ebbing surges join within wishbone dreams .. fab line

James,

You've outdone yourself with this one. To begin with, the lovely, whimsical title just draws the reader in.

As I read, I meandered along with your brooklet, feeling the cool serenity of the dribbling waters washing all over me.

Hope your week has been going well, my friend. You are always in my prayer.

    Hi Sonali,
yeah, I finally got here... and I thank you for such a wonderful review... your kind and touching comments reinforce the belief in my intent... after all, it was Brooke who induced the vision in me to be able to create... you know I only write from the heart... I never have a plan, I never really know what will come... I'm just glad it did this time, for I wanted to let Brooke know I was among those who love, respect and wish her well, not only in the magic of her poetry and achievements, but also her selfless acts of 'giving back'... whether that be through her poetry, her reviewing or the courses and tuition she always seems to be involved in on site... yes, she truly is one amazing woman.

My gratitude for the corrections... almost had it right... smile)))))))))))).

Hope you, David and your family are healing... you know, you are always in my prayers as well.

Wow! I'm just blown away by this poem, James. Just when I think I've heard the best from you, you surprise me again. You've penned an amazing get well for Brooke. With all the positive energy pouring forth from FS, she's bound to be back very soon.

Loved this imagery: Reflective-sparkling magic water in glide,

Super play on words with "brooklet":
A stream turns to river; a river to the sea,
Yet a single drop of water can sprout and grow a tree.
For the mission of our brooklet in her calm and measured course,
Is to feed--protect and nurture every droplet from its source

Your sweet soul shines through with these words of encouragement. Excellently penned, James!

    Hi Marietta,
so here I finally am... what, slack you say? Well... yes and no... and all after such a truly wonderfully-inspiring review... just doesn't get much better than this... but it makes me wonder... have I've peaked?... You know, all down hill from here... well to tell you the truth that's pretty much sums up my current attitude, or at least that's what my physical body is screaming... but hey! That's not why I'm replying... I'm here to say how grateful I am that you think I 've done a decent job on creating something worthy for our Queen Bee... she is one amazing woman, but you already know that, along with everyone else who is fortunate enough to come in contact with her... I know we all wish her a speedy recovery... it's like I said... the honey just doesn't taste as sweet without our Queen bee in the hive organizing her troops.

Thanks sweet lady... truly appreciate the glow around your aura!
