Soni's unique abilities make the story even more interesting, especially when she senses danger. Those two dogs are unique as well, and very entertaining. I love your characters and the intermingling dramas and dialogue, Giddy

I agree with Grandfather about there not being any coincidences, Barbara. The chapter flowed beautifully and further involves the reader in the relationship of Soni and Jim. Like Soni, I'm just not sure about that guy!

Ha! The "nannies" got tired of hearing Jim and Soni bickering. Soni is questioning all the bad things that have happened to her since she rescued Jim. And now she is having premonition of something bad happening. Good to leave us on the edge of our seats, even though I don' t like it. lol

Soni and Jim argue like a married couple, while the two dogs really are smarter than the two humans. They at least try to get along together, both refusing to move until the arguing stops.
Soni is incredibly intelligent in the ways of the outdoors, and her senses are heightened so she picks up on every nuance of change. The dogs and her are almost like one, with their acute ability to hear even the slightest sound.
Danger is lurking and Soni as well as the dogs know it, but Jim doesn't recognise it.
You always leave us with a "cliff hanger."
Another exciting chapter.

Hi, Barb,

These two are a work in progress. About the time they make nice, one or the other gets all squiggly and discomfits the other --- therefore upsetting the dogs. Jeesh!

Good chapter, with a good hook at the end.

Cheers & Blessings

Loved the expression "the two nannies" hehe about the dogs. Another great read. Was this is a bit shorter than normal? Well done as usual and no errors. Tootsie55 is also reviewing your story. Will message you later.

Excellent chapter with your usual suspenseful ending. I have one question, though: Where Are Isabella and Emanuel? Have I forgotten from the last chapter? Were they left somewhere to be picked up later? If not, shouldn't some passing mention of them be made in this chapter?

When the dogs moved, Soni preceded forward. [... Soni PROCEEDED forward.]

Jim followed. "Care to fill me in?" [This line and the next needs to be spaced.]

Soni has esp I guess, or she's picking up vibrations from the ground... someone is coming? This is good tension, but I wish I didn't have to wait to find out what it is. LOL! :)

Soni is in touch with her instincts, and if Jim has sense, he will listen to her - there is danger approaching! I'm on pins and needles now, waiting for the next posting.

I love the picture, Barbara. It is so beautiful. You tell a good story and always leave us guessing. I like that. Dogs are smart. They can sense something. As did Soni. Hope it isn't anything too serious. :>D Miss Sally
