Hello Brooke,
I loved the imagination displayed in this wonderful verse of the day-in-the-life of a grain of sand. You always take the reader on such a wonderful journey from the perspective of your chosen muse, and this was no exception.
My favorite stanza was about the sixth grain...I enjoyed its dream of freedom.
Another solid write, my friend.
Have a great evening, Bill

This is the first 6 I think I have ever given someone for their poem. Great imagination and I love the flow of the verses and the rhymes. The abab delivery adds to the story. I'm not a great poem reader or poet but this is what I like in poetry.

Alas, I just used my last six. I so enjoy these little snippets of children's poetry. They have a very jaunty sing-song rhythm, and the imagery is so vivid. The art more than does justice to what you have written. I enjoyed the read.

Hi Brooke,
This is such a magical counting poem. Your imagination sores once more to produce a total delight for the kiddies and grownups as well. The ending is delightfully happy and so very creative.
Hugs,
Lou

It's no surprise that you retain the title of queen of poetry here on Fan Story. We grannies really appreciate your story poems because they remind us the wonder we had when we first had children of our own. I'm so glad it's the beginning of the week and I have a six to give! Alexis x

Oh my, Brooke, I swear - your imagination is boundless. I tried to single out a stanza I loved most, but when it became nine, eight, seven (and so on - LOL), I gave up. (I think it was the ride on the starfish's arm that made me!) *grin*

I enjoyed your poem. I like the ending especially where other grains of sand joined the only one of the 12 left. I like the circumstances of each grain's demise. The variety adds to the fun. You are very talented creating these counting rhymes and sharing them with all. Thank you.

I love your counting poems Brooks. This is another adorable one. I'm sure Sawyer loves them too. We're going to visit our great nephew Jack soon and I'm going to read some of them to him. It will be fun to see a child's reaction to them.
Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving.

So very clever in its rhyme pattern, its structure, its humorous description of the various beach scenes and the sand particle interaction. The personification of the sand gave the piece great 'personality'. As each stanza came and went I was more and more intrigued by the cute drama that developed.
Very nice.
