You truly spoke very well for them. This poem tells such a terrible story and I thank God that you have brought it to light. The poem may help someone to tell the truth, even when it seems easier to lie. This poem shows what happens, many times, because of the fear of not being believed. I know someone who went through this who has never come to grips with this. The abuse went on for may years and he is still a "family friend." The rhyme and rhythm work very well to tell this horror story. Good luck in the contest. It's a great work poetically, with a strong message. God Bless! Pat

You have told this sad story with great empathy and compassion. Such a life-destroying situation as this is hard to imagine.. The burden of guilt on the poor girl must have been well-nigh insufferable.

I can only imagine, Tony, but I think you are probably right about the guilt she carries. I'm so glad you read this, and glad you understood. Thank you!

Wow, what a powerful poem about such a horrific and dark topic. You really managed to tell a story and get your point across without sounding preachy. Thank you very much for sharing this!

This really hurts and your poem was so effective in portraying that hurt as we, the readers understood the guilt of the weaver of lies and the trauma that must have felt by the victim of lies. The lines are fluid and smooth. I enjoyed your poem, god bless.

Thank you so much for this sensitive review of a difficult poem. This is painful for all involved, which includes the parents, who love both their children and are deeply grieved to see either of them hurt. I appreciate your kind comments very much.

Well if being abused by someone and casting the blame on another isn't hurting someone, then I don't know what is. It would be so difficult to forgive a sibling that betrayed you in such a horrific way, but still, one would have to try. For the only ones we hurt hen we harbor hatred in our hearts is ourselves.

A touching, poignant poem, well rhymed and presented.

Best of luck in the upcoming contest.

You are so right Dean. An unforgiving spirit can be painfully destructive, and does hurt the one who harbors it more than the unforgiven one. But all in the family are hurt by this and by lies that are also destructive. Thank you so much for your understanding read of this poem and your kind review.

The abuser gets a few moments of pleasure, the abused a life time of pain and rejection. This is very well with a smooth flow of words.

Hi,

Such a sad, sad story. One all to often happening these day. How sad for the brother wrongly accused. How devastating it had to have been.

A story with great impact, and a beautiful presentation.

Suggestion:: It would be helpful if you enlarged the font. It was difficult to read.

Best of luck in the contest.

Cheers & Blessings

Thank you for your sympathetic review Jax. I agree, it is incredibly sad when this happens, and the ripples go on and on too, affecting so many others in the family.

God, I wish I had a 6 left. I had to read it four times to let it sink in. You told this awful tale flawlessly. What a terrible position for a child to be put in...
