Lovely transportation to a winter's wonderland. Makes me almost look forward to that first snowfall. Almost. Beautifully written and expressed. This is free verse at its finest.

Very good poetry. In this poem you have beautifully described the beauty of winter.The Cold winter when the night falls early brings to mind a cold and dark night. Houses are for warming especially in the winter. Nice poem

One of the reasons I moved from California to Washington was for the snow, and I look forward to it every year. I love hearing the snow ploughs working while I'm still in bed and shoveling a little trail around the yard for me and the dogs. The way the street lights illuminate the falling is pure magic to me...

    I remember when I was a kid, while it was snowing, I could see each flake glittering in the light of a streetlight outside my window. And, I remember that people would talk about snow blindness, to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the white on white on white glare. From those memories I wrote this poem. Lovely imagery throughout this beautiful
free verse.
You really convey the cold and whiteness of a winter
day with descriptive word choice.

Loved the fade-back art work; it reminded me of a Charlie Brown's background picture. Loved the free verse poem with its occasional rhymes of 'ground-mound' and uniqueness and existence.

livelylinda, a wonderful job of describing a snow
scene. I even feel the cold and long to be inside
drinking hot cocoa. Good alliteration in winter
white ...envelops everyone...black bark ... and
darkness deepens.
