Sadly, I never experienced campus life. Snoozing on the job is never a good idea. I had one or two misfortunes in that regard too. I worked shifts for 21 years, so that was bound to happen. Another well crafted chapter.

Yeah well mate the new shorter chapters have now come to an end. Seems IO was i breach of FS rules. I should have made the chapters smaller in the first place. Ha. Tom reckons 2000 words is not long ho hum. Thanks for coming by.
reply by CR Delport on 03-Oct-2014
That is why I keep my postings under 1000 words. You tend to get better feedback with shorter posts.

Sankey, for those of us from the boomer generation, cards never loose their appeal. I do not like emailed greetings at all. You can hold it in your hand just like the one who sent it and then read it over again whenever you wish. Nice addition to your story. :0 GracieAnn

Carols Sis not Cards hehe. Looks like no more breaking up of chapters. Tom says I was in breach of the rules. makes me wish I had done them shorter the first time Groan. Thanks for coming along.

this is an excellent chapter, Geoff, i'll try to remember that but can't promise anything. I thought I had reviewed this already, I like how you stuck with your values rather than following the crowd. I hope i'll be able to listen to this one day. I am on my husband's computer which is locked up tight and won't let me do much.

OK well later on have a look at the "ReallY truly Christmas Carols" book in my profile. You probably have Sis this is a split up of a bigger chapter but getting more inspiration as well as we go ha.

Loved this chapter of your biography, it's really interesting to follow the varied and different facets of your life, I must say when one does a clective of one's life, it sounds "specky" but it happens over a lot of years so not particularly like in reality! Keep up the good work Bro, with God's help! Blessings, Roy.

Hi Sankey
This is the only chapter I have read, so please pardon my ignorance. I wonder two things. First, where is this "little dog that wouldn't let go"? And second, what instrument do you play? You write music, so I must rationalize that you play something.
I have written over 50 gospel songs, including a few Christmas carols. But I've never tried to publish them. I have sent some of my children's poetry to a publisher, but they don't waste much time on unknowns. I was a finalist in WFNB's 2013 yearly competition in the children's literature category, and I thought this might make them look at my work in a different light. But I've never sent anything yet, and it's been 1 1/2 years. I had to ask myself, why do you write? ...to get published, or just for the joy of writing? Sure, it would be nice to get published, but I write for own personal satisfaction.
There's a lot here that I don't understand. It seems you have been involved with "Campus Crusades for Christ", and I have heard of that. Timmy & Brian Clark are involved in that ministry in the states. (Timmy died earlier this year). Their father was our pastor back in the late 70's and early 80's. He baptized me... Rev Winston Clark, now retired and working with Aids orphans in Africa. God uses us all in different ways, depending on talents and personalities.
It seems that you have a lot of talent in stage productions, behind the scenes.... lighting and sound? We have a good sound man at our church! And there it is, God supplies for every need. Every job is important.

Hi new friend. Nice to have another Bro or Sis in the Lord on board. I only did the lighting settings once for the Dramac review at the University and as I said thoroughly en joyed it. I bet Satan wanted me NOT to go on to Bible College and stay in the Devil's workshop at the UNi ha! I hope you will have a look at some of the other chapters hoping there is still some rewards on those left. We are going through my autobiography and breaking up larger chapters we are at about a third of the way in the book so far. With the break ups I mean.I don't know what camp I am of these days. Not Bill Bright or GARB or even some of my brethren in Independent Baptist circles get up my nose these days too ha. Thanks again God Bless.

Hi again friend I do run 2 web sites one is for our church www.nepeanbaptist.org or the other is my own place www.funnymentalist.net they are both stabled on Witness Today Server that Bro paul hester runs. let me assure you strictly amateur here not a Web Designer or Web master ok! Interesting about your songs my carols were wirtten as I said in the 1970's escept for the more ecent one I pout on the chapter in 2002. I have done some other satirical stuff and they are on FS as well. If you are interested I can tell you where they are, or look at my profile.

Hi Sankey (I want to write "Spanky", as in "The Little Rascals")
I don't take much stock in labels either. They are all man-made. When God looks down here on this old earth, he doesn't see labels. That's the very least of his thoughts. He sees people who are either following, or not. That's it. It's all about following Jesus.
Here's a great song that I used to sing when I did concerts back in the early 80's to mid-90's. "Come and Follow" by my favourite Gospel artist, Don Francisco, and his wife, Wendy (who is a fine guitarist):

This is a lovely little narrative and you offer some great advice for those wishing to be published to follow. I think you might want to run this through a grammar check before the SPAG patrol catches up with you as it could use some serious editing. Nicely done and I thank you so much for sharing this with me.

An interesting chapter (Hello! I hadn't read it before. LOL, it was interesting to see your developing experience in drama through lighting.

I enjoyed it.

every year - but I got to do it, [always use two dashes, not one, to separate one part of the sentence from another. Use one only to hyphenate words.]

Ahh another new angle thanks for that. Never heard the 2 dashes thing before but I learn something new every day. Also we are different in our different cultures as well mate. You know driving on wrong side of road and some of our terrible treatment of spelling the world over ha. Appreciate ya still keeping the dialogue thing in mind could come on a further edit right across ha!
