Dear Barbara - this keeps the tension at hand to figure out what has happened to Paige - great historical data too on the underground railroad.
I found this well penned and keeps me engaged with the plot.
Thanks for sharing it.

The boys heard a dog so they must follow their lead. Meanwhile, another cave in happens and Cash saves Amos's life. Sigh they are headed for the cellar.

Smiling Barb.

There's a ton of action in this part, Barbara, and it's a great continuation of the other parts - a definite adventure, full of suspense.

I've always loved your writing Barbara. To be so prolific and write with quality is one of many things I admire. I have a hard time with writing authentic dialogue like that and Lee, (Humpwhistle) is so good at it as you are. The underground Railroad in our upstate NY area is some history. We have homes all over that have secret stairs and doorways etc...Makes for an interesting plot.

You are killing me with this short chapter (tease - uh). Is the tunnel really in danger of flooding? Was that Morgan barking or Dog's echos? Where the heck is Paige, and did she find the treasure (knowing Paige she literally fell ontop of it)? Where's the rest of my chapter, you owe me. Uh I'm having readers anxiety. All your fault - lol.

You're keeping us hanging, Barbara! Good dialogue, as usual. This is quite the adventure - what a great story! All the secrets waiting to be discovered. Can't wait to see where this tunnel ends up.
Well done,
Av
"You saying there's a creek in here too(?) - I think this is a question, but your call.

Finding Paige and Morgan in that tunnel is definitely tough especially with the heavy run. The possibility that the search party's lives are at risk is obviously high. But the bark of a dog is welcome relief and lead to finally find Paige. your story is packed with tension and it made the reading more exciting. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah! Morgan to the rescue! Lots of tension and excitement in this segment, Barbara. But Billy Joe, a southern boy, not knowing the phrase 'if the creek don't rise' is a bit too much to swallow.

Thank you for the kind review and dropping by. I appreciate both. Billy Joe does some strange things and I think he was worried about drowning.

This is both exciting and tense as they look for Paige in the underground tunnels that were used years ago for slave escapes to the north.
With Morgan barking, they have a good chance of finding her. You're using the dogs well, making them an important part of the story. Not just pets. Way to go!
- Dank ya, Bradley. Did you mean 'Dang ya, Bradley.'?
