Another lovely and sweet poem. I especially liked the whimsical nature of the second stanza.
The rhythm falters a little for me in the last line. I think it has an extra syllable. Below is a suggestion of how I tweaked it a little and it made the rhythm sound better - at least to me:
So if you have a half a smile,
just grow that smile to see
what happens when you use both halves
and set your smile free.

Sawyer looks so coy and cute! I enjoyed your rhythmic and rhymed quatrains. Here's to half-smiles plus setting our "whole smile free"! Cheers- Joan

Very different, and you turn that half smile into something very special as when "you use both halves and set your whole smile free." Attitudes do rub off on us. I think the middle verse is the weakest. The other two are just marvelous. Les

Another brilliantly written poem. I really enjoyed this. It made me smile (a whole one, not a half one!). Thanks for sharing your beautiful words.

Playfully delightful, the words seem to come so easily to you. They jump at the reader, from this funny poem, complemented by the sweet, sweet picture.

So if you have a half a smile,
just grow that smile to see
what happens when you use both halves
and set your whole smile free.
I think this stanza could be written up for a lot of people to read, because so many go around with frowns.
Lovely photo of Sawyer.
Well done. Mary

If you publish a book of poems ( Sawyer Poems) for us and the outside world (which would be popular) you probably won'r want to include all of Sawyers photos. Appending different names to those poems which contain proper names is possibly a better idea for making the poems attractive to a wider range of families. You are probably doing this already.

Hello again Brooke
My grandson Gavin has a smile like that. It just makes me giddy and when he unleashes the full thing, I am beside myself. WTG Brooke
