Nature is splendid, but consciousness is as splendid. I see living creatures as the way Nature found to watch itself. It is an act of Nature's vanity to look at itself through us and marvel. I love being alive to let nature see it all through me.

Excellent photo to complement this poem. I liked the simile in the second stanza. You really took us everywhere here. That happens when you have seen things on TV.

Captures about every sentiment of the beauty of this great Earth and pays respect. A great effort of reflecting on the past and some projection to the future. Creative.

Wonderful photograph.

Nice format. You are informative and well researched as this poem drips with visual imagery in its narrative. Great work.

Himalayas
Inspire us,
But dangerously cruel.

If you embrace
Their ancient face,
You might become the fool. ... wonderful lines ... merge beautifully with the sacredness... in spite of the malevolence that is being hinted at

Grand Canyon's maw ... fabulous ... just says it all :)

I love the ambling, rambling of this muse! The rhyme scheme is perfect for the mood.

The first stanza reminded me of how I felt when we visited Jerusalem last year.

The reference to the Himalayas was a vignette from Three Cups of Tea.

Tom, Tom, busy, busy rhymer!

Don't worry about form. Continue to ramble them out. This is perhaps one of your most powerful writes ( at least what I have read). You say it all here. Without tools we would be fools and this cuts both ways as I know you are also saying w/out the inner tools to glorify in the beauty of nature, we are fools. Nature is creation in motion. Sticking our heads in the sand , seeking the undertow is not the answer. Science? It is right in front of us, the striated colors of the canyon, time revealed in all its glory- no dissection needed. And leaving imprints of our harm, trusting that there will be no repercussions is just naive. The sacred places propel us to awe and marvel, hopefully kindling a rebirth of perspective. Beautiful. You should promote this one.

Since the beginning of time earth has proved she has many magnificent sights to behold in a well-penned ode to land and sea;
Good visual imagery of flora and arboreal.
Excellent!

Hi,Treischel,
An excellent poetic ramble full of rhyme and rhythm and poetic imagery as well as wisdom along the way. I suspended analysis and enjoyed the ride--just went with the flow.
