My mother and father only took one cruise in their lives. They took a flight to San Francisco and then to Hawaii. They left by ship and went to Sydney where my mother purchased opals and had them mounted in the states. my sister has the pendant and the ring is still waiting for me. opals have always been fascinating to me ever since I was a child and saw my first one!

They are so beautiful, millions of years old. Some say they represent the Third Eye and help with spiritual dreaming. Bless you, Kace.

A fine poem presented in an artistic manner. The photograph together with the background added value to the poem. The poem moved smoothly and showed how much you love your country. I had the good fortune of your country and visiting places like Sydney, Brisbane etc. It's amazingly beautiful.
One line baffled me-"You could bring your guns- The customs, would they permit us to bring them?

Nah, I don't think you would be able to get guns through customs; don't like that line and I am going to change it. Thanks so much for reading. I am on the coast 3 hours from Brisbane. Cheers, K.

This poem gives me the feeling of being in a tropical paradise. It engages the senses with vivid descriptions.My favorite line is "jeweled seas surround her." Each line flows freely in fluid style, although the longest one throws off the rhythmic balance just a bit. Great job!

I love this, the one place I ever wanted to go was Australia, I got the information for immigrating late 50's early 60's, Australia would pay the way, but the small print scared me, I was very young and single so I did not follow through.
Your write made me stop and think of that time...thank you
