Hi Darla! Me too!! I really do have a sort of invasion! Hence this story...the part about freezing and trying to decide what to do is me, and true...I've killed many since it started to get cold...I know they just want to survive...but, well...thank you very much for enjoying this! Great review! ")) Susan

Could you not find a photo of a spider?
Can you mind read or something: I've been walking around for some time to write about phobia's and here you are with part of my idea-LOL.
Yours is a nice horror story.
I find that ticks tend to get resistant to sprays.
Hate and am scared of spiders, But Robert makes sure they go.

My father and mother freak at the sight of spiders, but I am a tad strange. I once let a small spider weave her beautiful web between my computer monitor and bedpost. It was amazing to watch the work it takes them to build their webs. This was one cool story. It reminded me of the film arachnophobia. I guess that poor old lady was done for. Kudos. You should try to locate a good spider picture. ;)

There you go Bryan! I am freaked at you ALLOWING one to actually build a web near you BED???????????? OMG. I know their webs are sort of....neat....BUT! Hope you like the pix! Thanks for egging me on. I almost used this in the first place! Susan
-
Very nice. Only the spider was not this kind next to my computer, it was no bigger than a pea and had no hair. It spun a web like that in the story Charlette's Web.
-
OH GOOD ! It was just a little 'house' spider...they are harmless. BUT still. Watch you don't let a brown recluse get in bed with you...Google those! :) S.
-
The brown recluse is quite poisonous, a fact I new before google. Not sure if Pennsylvania has them though.
-
Oh yes, you do! They like undisturbed closets, shoes, etc...gee. just sweep a lot! And they are in old wood too, sheds. Well you know. ") Ahhhh! S.

Poor, poor little Miss Gates
Sprayed and sprayed
At the wrong rate
The effect was quite chilling
For instead of killing
Its intended victims
It caused them to grow
To gigantic proportions

Well done, Buck

Hi Nancy! So glad you got creeped out...you should be here with me! We could have 'fun' leaping up on chairs. LOL! Thank you so much! Susan

Spiders don't bother me, Susan. The most elegant thing in the world is a black widow. She is absolutely beautiful. But your spiders were malevolent and lurking, ready to overrun and possess. Remember that their venom paralizes their prey so that their juices can be sucked dry and their bodies mummified in silk to feed their young. That's mildly creepy. :D Nancy

A twelve guage will make mince meat out of the spider. Of course you won't have much of a house left, either when you get rid of them all. (LOL) This is very well written

HA! Oh Lord! Yes, do you remember a movie called "Nadine"? She shot a rattler in a bed and it destroyed it of course, bed and snake! ") Glad you enjoyed this C. I have killed many of these things...I just can't feel sorry for them. ? Susan

You're welcome, Susan. Charlie

Never heard of a wolf spider. Just the name freaks me out. I can visualize them coming up the steps. Nice touch putting in the cat. I assume she locked him up because she was spraying? Love that he would have to babysit her from a panic attack. You do a great job of building suspense especially in the paragraph where she has to go back and get the spray. Love the foreshadowing with all the legs-one of the effects of insecticide, I would guess.

Susan,
This is an excellent Halloween story about a plot by the spiders to take over a house. I enjoyed reading this post and couldn't find anything to criticize.

Hi Dave! Thank you! I'm glad you don't have this to worry over...another reviewer said she has them in her bedroom biting her! I'm still freaking out...thanks again my friend!! Susan---I'm crawling just thinking of it.

OK, I'm not so frightened as enjoying a good bit of comedy in this one. Not scared of spiders myself, though I do seem to draw them to my bedroom--they like the taste of my blood, apparently. (Hate that their bites always swell up and itch so much--poor kiddies seem to have inherted this allergic reaction--cummer!)My home is in a wooded area and I've seen several variety of spiders, though thankfully none of the poisonous brown recluses! Nice Halloween horror feel to this one--not too frightening for the faint of heart, but icky enough for all. Thanks for sharing!

Guess I shouldn't mention the paper wasp nest in the front tree or the earwigs that like to clog up the gutters in the spring/fall...OK: earwigs gross ME out--it's the whole name EARwigs--like I imagine them squirming inside my head and hurting me with those pinchers---AAAACCKKK!!!! Yes, pesticides are a way of life for all in this neighborhood.
-
OH LORD! NOPE, I will never come to your house! LOL! No, I can imagine that there are lots of critters there...but really, do you have the Sydney funnel webs ? Or are they just in and around Sydney? I can't remember. I saw a nature program about them...just horrors. Earwigs??? Are those REAL? I saw an OLD Twilight Zone about those and thought it was just a story!???? I'm still crawling. I need a shower! LOL! Wow...Earwigs...OMG! s.
