flipping it's tail and shaking it's head/ it's misery - drop the apostrophe in all three places
it's = contraction for it is
its = possessive
You shift between present and past tense a couple of times
Susan, this is a moving story - what a lovely Christmas miracle :-) Brooke

This was very touching. A reader can feel the love you have for animals and the bird. The prayer sure was answered and I'm glad. Great to read and hear of a Christmas miracle. Your friend, Cody

Hi Cody! I am so happy you liked this. I was so relieved to see it fly off, I had to write about it. And I did hang pie pans up to swing around in front of this window too! I also put this as non fiction since it is a true story! ") Good to hear from you! Susan

Miracles DO happen, and they happen every day. We just have to be paying attention! Poor little bird, he was probably dazed a bit! Is your house right in a flight path? Maybe you should let your windows get dirty so they could see them? LOL - no, not really. I know it must really be a dilemma when it happens. I hate it when I hit a squirrel or chipmunk on the road! Thank you for sharing this Christmas miracle with us. ~patty~

Susan,
So the cardinal got away. I enjoyed this read and couldn't find anything to criticize. But I need a few more words.

Hi Bree! It is a big picture window, and looks dark...so they think it's a place to nest or something. We lost a phoebe to this window, and today we meant to put things up to deter the birds and got busy and forgot to do it. SO , TOMORROW! I need to take care of it. Thank you Bree! I appreciate your kind review! ") Susan

Hi, what a unique story. You've got what you prayed for, no birds died on Christmas day. I was hoping for more when I realized, a story need not be long to be interesting.

When prayers are answered in the presence of children, I think the power of faith is increased two hundred fold. We have birds that hit the windows, too, mostly in the spring. It is sad, but we cheer when they recover. This was a nice Christmas miracle story.

And it's true! I was so happy! It's neat that you have birds too, I am going to HAVE to do something here to deter them. Thank you Magic, for a great review!! ") Susan
