That was some adventure. I have heard of the dander threatened by hippos so well done for getting that in.

This passage seems somewhat convoluted.

'...they were amazed that she had been not harmed or mistreated.'

There are lots of ways round it: I might have written '...they were amazed that she remained unharmed, nor had she been mistreated.'

Thanks so much for your careful review. I meant to say "had not been harmed or mistreated" so thanks for picking that up. The value of another pair of eyes - I probably read it six or eight times.
