An original take on the prompt- to select a spider! The use of alliteration here is very skilful and appropriate. the reader can imagine the intricate spinning of the web! I think you meant 'who' not 'whom'.

Roses have thorns, spiders can bite. Life offers beauty in many forms. We need to tread lightly, but with eyes open, we can enjoy them all. Spiders need to spin their webs for survival. We just need to respect that. Your poem captured those sentiments.

You made my day when you suggested you might read it to your grandchildren. I do not write specifically for children but find some poems do fit into a good read for children. This poem was not written specifically for this competition but fitted into it nicely. The inspiration came from a garden spider.
