Very nice poem reminding us all of the beauties of home. I have spent a lot of time in this, my home for the last 35 years, and now I have to pack it all up, get rid of most of it, and find another place to "wind down." No other place will feel like home I fear. Thank you for your wonderful words of wisdom and thought. I very much enjoyed reading this free verse. MM

A family makes memories in a home, one child or 5 siblings turns a house into a home. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem and your memories.

I really liked this. I am somewhere in the middle and the passage of time has started to be a focal point of my understanding. A good poem makes the reader stop and think and you have accomplished this. Flow is good and you have a nice rhythm to the stanzas. I am not sure I understand the picture but I know it has meaning for you. I can tell you are not the type to just throw something in there for filler. Nice job, I enjoyed it.

Excellent! I really enjoyed reading this poem; your words are well crafted and illicit emotions of comfort in the reader. You have said everything that home is to all of us. As Dorothy said, "There's no place like home."
Thank you for sharing this with us at FanStory.

Oh, Linda, this is a beautiful poem in which you say it all. Home is where you feel safe until the day when you at last enter your final home after a hopefully rich life, with all its ups and downs and many a good home. I loved your poem. Ulla:)))

Congratulations on your work being recognized and on its being named one of the all time best. This was a beautiful poem that takes us through the stages of life. The artwork selected was gorgeous, as well.

A touching and poignant piece that highlights the various stages on our journey through life - with the center being our home. I'm at the grey hair, puffy cheeks stage. Had hip surgery right before the pandemic. And am now watching our grandsons grow up - on zoom. I can relate to all of your words. Beautiful piece!

Thank you, June. Every Christmas my children/grands/greats, gather together. All of them were there (they believe the pandemic is a hoax) except me so we did a zoom Christmas Eve gathering. Thanks for reading and sharing your story with me. Continue keeping safe. Linda

That is a beautiful poem and it told a story from watching your children grow up to turning old and gray. It was everything I wanted to read and nothing such by wonderful

Home right now it's a war zone because of this pandemic, but I like the hope and reminder of what home must be:"
home is where your children
take their first steps
say their first words
ride their first bikes" Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.
