This is a really great but also sad story. As far as the actual writing, I thought that was well done as well. There were a few parts where I felt like you might be veering off track but you bring it back quickly so as to provide context and details without getting lost in the description. Great work and thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Good morning, Mystery writer.

Well... where do I begin!

First off, your story telling is brilliant! You drew me in from the start and had me whizzing across the page like there was no tomorrow.

The thought process behind writing this is well executed and very well balanced.

I really wish I could write half as well :)

The story itself is heart breaking and comes across as very real. Perhaps it is... I hope not.

An absolute pleasure to read and review. I will be looking out for the competition and unless I see anything written as well... I'll be voting for this fabulous and realistic write.

KInd regards

Thank you so much for your high praise! I'm pleased i managed to convince you a guy had written this. Fortunately it isn't a true story, but being an Aussie I do know a thing or two about R & R and the Vietnam war and conscription; I have been to California, so I know there are gum trees there; and I have seen a kangaroo's guts removed like that.
I do hope my story still appeals to you in the contest.

You fooled me indeed, Lisa. Being a girly, I now realise the story wasn't true. I don't think women went to Nam, did they?

The kangaroo scene that brought back the horric memories of your soldier was a great idea. Certainly churned my guts...

Knowing who the author is certainly wont hinder my choice. be a tough call to find anything better in the competition... We'll see :)

    kind regards

Oh, this is a female version Charlie (smile). A great story with excellent descriptive imagery, visuals and a good use of a dialogue. I like your creativity, and am sure this will do well in the contest.

Thank you so much for your complimentary review. Charlie in Australia would be an abbreviation for Charlotte.
