Well, kitties know they take care of themselves and only depend on owners for food and water, love when THEY want it, and a pat or two. Other than that, you are their 'people.' I enjoyed your contest entry. It describes kitties well. You did a great job with the complex form. I like how your words flow smoothly down the page. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Expertly crafted. The syllable count is perfect. I've always thought of cats as having an aloof socially distant quality; even before it became a thing. I like the picture here it works well. Good job!

When I saw your title, Feline Compliance, I thought it a bit of a contradiction in terms! LOL. You're absolutely right though. They have a lot to teach us in current times!

If they realized they were being compliant with our current situation I am sure they would become immediately lovable just to remain in charge and contrary! LOL Thank you for the great review.

A very well-written Joseph star poem describing the lazy days of the self proclaimed royal cat who sleep the most of their lives on our favourite chair or coach.

Ignorance is bliss, they say. I see no behavioral changes in the cats of my neighborhood. Clearly, they don't watch the news. Then again, they seem immune to the virus . . . so far.
Let's hope some of us are still around to operate the catfood can openers when all is said and done.

Best of luck.

Peace, Lee

The two words of 'feline' and 'compliance' do not mesh with the felines inhabiting my house...LOL!! ;) That not withstanding, this is soothing and reassuring offering of a Joseph's Star that, perhaps, there are compliant felines that exist outside these walls! ;) LOL! Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

They are compliant without knowledge. If they realized as much I am sure they would alter their behavior and be more attentive just to be contrary! LOL Thanks for the great review and good wishes.

You made me smile here as this cat is not one bit bothered about the current crisis and this goes for many animals. The pigeons in my town are suffering because they like to dine when humans eat and they are missing their lunch! Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

You've written a very good poem for the Joseph's star contest
with an excellent theme about cats and the calm atmosphere they provide
You have several syllable problems in the poem.
Line three "Constantly cleaning itself" has seven syllables and should have five.
You could simply drop "itself."
The last line must have one syllable, but I believe "stoic" has two.
If so, it would have to be replaced, "calm" would work.
Otherwise, well done.
Note: to get the shape you could center the poem.
Best wishes to you.
Robert

Thanks for the great catch on line 3 ~ very much appreciated. I tried to center it with no luck. (sad face) If you can help that would be appreciated; and stoic is one syllable everywhere I checked.

I just figured it out! It is now centered and compliant. Thanks so much!

To center the poem, I use the advanced editor on fanstory; there is a option on the toolbar. You'd probably have to re-enter it to do that if you didn't use it.
I used How Many Syllables and Websters to check stoic. If you have a source, go with it. It's a good idea to mention the source in the author note.
    Good luck in the contest.
