The author's words are clear, interesting and creative. The reader,
as reading the poem, had many memories of the fireflies. The artwork
is perfect and compliments the words and theme of this poem.

May you catch a firefly or two - thank you!

You have made excellent use of the few words the prompt allows. The sight of lightning bugs takes me back sixty years--makes me smile every time! Lovely piece

Ah, Mystery Writer!
You have written about some of my very favorite childhood friends!
And dreams? Holy Toledo! My nightly dreams as of late have transported to times and places - along with familiar faces - that are astounding!
Kudos to your creativity!
Best Wishes,
diane

Thanx so much, Beatiful Lady! - I feel like I'm gonna go crazy soon... (some would argue it already happened (lol!). This craziness has to end soon, yeah? Everything I do has been (is being) converted to online... see? High School students can't afford to lose ground so we're plowing forward with YouTube and more even when the lower schools are 'encouraging enrichment activities'... but what a hassle!! ;) Just give me a good ole fashion classroom any day!! ;) You take care and I promise we'll be laughing at this some day!! ;) Yvette :)

I used to do that as a kid, but always let them go! Thank you for the thought and the poem. You are welcome for the review.
-
I'm not ready to let go of my dreams just yet... take care!
-
No, I don't believe in giving up on dreams, either. I was commenting on catching the fireflies. I always let them go.
-
Understood... but the fireflies are the dreams in the poem. ;) ;) ;)
-
Right. I should have put two and two together and gotten four! You did a good job because you have the literal and figurative meaning, all in 7 words!

I really liked the metaphor of the dark night and the fireflies, everyone has their own ways of working out their problems! Thank you for writing this amazing poem!!

Oh my goodness, Melody, you just put a smile on my face amidst all these gray (and white and lightish gray and darker light gray...lol!) skies!! :) ;) Thank you for your wonderful comments and for those bright, shiny stars!! :) May you find some brightness in your week ahead - take care! ;)

I get this! Sometimes we forget to go after the fireflies. They're always around to be chased. We can watch them or , on purpose, try to capture those dreams. This little poem packs a mental punch!

This poem/artwork combo definitely works for me.
Fireflies in the darkness are the perfect metaphor for dreams.
Much conveyed in only seven words. Rod
