This takes me back to when my partner was wood carting during winter a couple of years ago. We'd be down to our last piece of wood, and he'd turn up after ten hours on the job, buggered, but with a load of wood just for us, bless him!
This is a very sweet poem, and I always enjoy one that reminds me of a precious time in my life. Thanks for the memory!

I love the imagery in this poem and the picture you paint of your husband is adorable. Could I be so bold as to suggest a different phrasing to make it flow better. The contest says its a 20 word poem contest so i guess the words can be any which way. Everyone has their own ideas and feel free to tell me if you don't like my ideas and stick to your own.

carrying heavy firewood
you bring warmth and comfort
with your lasting love.
The picture and the poem are the epitome of cosines and comfort.

Hello Laura,
For me, it is the simple actions, like carrying in a load of firewood that resonates with me and speaks ... no shouts... of love. I don't need a lot of fancy wines or dinners or expensive gifts.
