Using too many words to describe something simple was something Charles Dickens did all the time, but his descriptions were so interesting and thorough that in his case it was acceptable! Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

A very well-written teacup dictionary poem about the use of words that often more than what is really needed to make a certain point and the reader lost interest. Keep it short and simple.

This addresses such an important point. I am well educated and have an excellent vocabulary.But there are poems I read that are beautiful, but so smothered in gorgeous adjectives that I get lost. Those poems make me feel as though I am not a good poet because I do not write that way.

I know a few writers like this, go on and on and say nothing at all or describe a room down to a speck of dirt on the floor. I think politicians purposely do that to confuse us to get out of trouble. Your poem is well-written, educational. Thank you for teaching me a new word.
