There is nothing wrong with taking time to brag about your handsome little son who grew up to be a man of talent and getting he education. Many blessings for a Merry Christmas.

You've probably gotten many six star reviews...well, here is another one. The presentation is wonderful, what with the lovely true photo of your Benjamin at age five; the exceptionally well written Bio Non-fiction; the excellent ending on a question; and the proud mother's notes afterward telling us how great he was and is, not only in your eyes but, in the eyes of the world. Brava. my friend. You have every reason to be proud. It is nice and special to read a true story of such significance. Thank you so much for sharing a personal view of your life and one of your children.
Take care, Jesse

Thank you, THANK YOU for your wonderful comments, Jesse - he is an angel and (still!) my most 'challenging' child -- but I love him to the moon! :) Your awesome comments and your unwavering support in addition to those shiny stars are so very appreciated -- THANK YOU, my friend!! ;)
Please forgive my 'running behind' ... as mid-terms close in, my tutoring schedule has ballooned and my 'free time' has all but vanished! Exams are next week so there is a light at the end of the tunnel - LOL! :) A very Merry Christmas to you from my little corner of the world!! ;) Yvette

Yvette,

Wow. That is astounding! How very mature and brave of him! Do you have any idea how many boys his age would be willing to perform (sing/act) in front of that many people at that age???

--cough-- Do you have any idea of how many young boys would even get up on STAGE in front of that many people????

Yes, I would say precocious is probably a great word for this situation. haha And I sure hope the whole thing is recorded on video. AND that you showed it to any and every girl who ever came by the house on a date. hahahaha

This is just adorable and I'm so glad you shared! Thanks!

Oh, you know we've got a video (although not of the audition as that REALLY was on the 'spur of the moment'!!).... and, yeah, he ate it up and was 'at home' on the stage.... and such a damn heart-breaker as he was a 'big nerd', too, and just didn't 'see' the many girls for some time! :) :) Thanx for you wonderful review, my friend! ;) Yvette

Oh my dear Yvette,
Your adorable and exceptionally talented 5 yr old singer is
indeed pride to be elated and excited about! You've every
motherly glow and loving inclination and bursting at heart
beams to so sweetly give him his honorary recognition here!
So glad you did, and my oh my, what mortal woud even
wonder why you have, and I must say, quite modestly here!
Your little Tiny Tim musical prodigy handsome indeed!
So wise and witty of you to note that despite his singing
talent and impressive accomplishments and achievements
already, he is still a 'boy' with typical boyish interests
and activities, that keeps him grounded and connected
with age group and school peers! And of course, kept
you grounded as a typical 'mom' by being the ever obliging
driver, food caterer, and costume butler.
Nice to note, as you have brought us up date on his
current status and accomplishments academically and
beyond! Congrats mom! Both mom and Benjamin are
a credit to each other and a reflection of all the love,
time and normal child raising it took too to achieve
such success and due pride and precious joy to and
for each other. Take a bow, mom Yvette, you've earned it
and then some. Thanks for sharing this sweet legacy! (;) (:)
Best wishes, Ronni

First, my lady, please forgive my 'running behind' again and 'short response'... as mid-terms close in, my tutoring schedule has ballooned and my 'free time' has all but vanished! Exams are next week so there is a light at the end of the tunnel - LOL! :)
That being said, you have brought tears to a mom's eyes over here -- funny, must be the time of year for tears: I cried when I wrote it, too! Not sad, mind you, just a little nostalgia I guess as my last one is now in college... :) :) Those years when they were all young seems so long ago now... but they could also be yesterday as the feelings inside are so raw sometimes!! ;) Aaaaaannd, I'm crying again (dammit!) so, I will 'wrap this up' by saying a very special thank you for those wonderful stars and those WONDERFUL and very MEANINGFUL comments! Merry Christmastime, Ronni! ;) Yvette

I am glad to learn that Benjamin still enjoys singing and playing the piano, but also focused on science and is working on an advanced degree. Thank you for sharing the true story and handsome picture--you have much to brag about! Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Yes a mother can brag and has the right to. I saw the picture and the words Tiny Tim jumped at me before I read the piece. Excellently written and thank you for sharing

Nice, this one made me smile : )) It is ok for a parent to brag about there children's achievements when they have done something worthy of praise Yvette. I do it all the time, ha ha.Your Benjamin reminds me of our Ashlee, she was put forward to sit an Australasian English exam at aged 10 by her school and finished in the top 5% of all who took it in Australasia and when it comes to Sport... well, she has been a town rep in every sport she has played, soccer, netball, volleyball : )) and she continues to get honors at school today. I almost forgot, the is a bad- ass pianist also, eight years of lessons and she creates her own music now. There, that was me bragging just a little, ha ha.

Thanx so much for your wonderful comments, Hitch - he is an angel and (still!) my most 'challenging' child -- but I love him to the moon! :) Loved hearing about your beautiful Ashlee -- but let's not get her and Ben together, huh? Ben also writes his own musical pieces, didn't pay a dime to go to college (actually made money with the job at the research lab there!!), and made all stars in soccer every year in high school.... what are we gonna do but brag, yeah?!! ;) :)

He is/was a beautiful child who looks somewhat like my grandson (another charmer with soulful eyes). What a wonderful slice of life. I love to read something about children succeeding because they enjoy their "work".
