I think your painting is wonderful and the verse a beautiful match.
The poem tells the story that is displayed in the painting.
Well done and thank you for sharing this with us.

This tanka describes the life cycles of both the ladybugs and the flowers.
It alludes to the lure of the violets to the insects and their mating rituals.
Keep writing

Good to see you back, Pamela! How are you feeling?
I like that you personify the seeds who enjoy the dancing of the ladybugs as they help pollinate and ensure the next generation of violets!

Lady bugs, or as we call them ladybirds are an integral part of nature, they devour the aphid, that sap sucking destroyer of plants. Well done, good to see you, beautifully written my friend, blessings, Roy

Pam, I declare you the queen of tankas. You come up with interesting
ones. The fact that you do your own paintings just adds more to the
poem. I am looking forward to your next tanka.
By the way, I am still working on mine.

This follows the traditional 5-7-5-7-7 syllabic format and the third line creates an excellent pivot. As is so often it is slightly less effective as a satori line. It doesn't give me that aha feeling and may be giving too much away.
Might 'yellow stamens watch' be more effective?

Lovely painting. I really like the vibrant colours that you've used. A nice description of the dancers and the audience. Well done Pam. All the best
