Beautifully written Willie, I appreciate your wonderful story, I discovered in my early childhood dad creeping into my room, with lots of toys in a pillow case, I realised he wasn't real, he was invented by Coca Cola in 1931 for a promotional add. Christmas diminished in my mind and heart somewhat after that. I'm not sure if it left a scar or not, but the gift giving is important, so I appreciate what my parents did. Well done, blessings, Roy

Roy, we are all children at heart. Although Santa may not be real,
it is a beautiful concept. Thank you very much, for your review and stars.

Well this poem covers it well. I remember the time when I heard something strange also. I got up just in time to hear my father shout,"I don't care who you are, get them reindeer off my roof!"
Thanks for sharing.

That is what I like, something to chuckle about. Who knows, those reindeer could ruin the roof. Replacing a roof can be very expensive, Thanks for the chuckle, review and stars.

I enjoyed your updated version of the classic poem, Willie. Your lines read well. I like the shorter length lines. The green font is a bit neon and hard to see. thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

And I am out of sixes! This is fantastic. Great choice of photo by cleo85. I think it is a woman, but she is my "go to gal" for visuals. Your poem is perfection for the Christmas season. LOVE IT. The only problem I have is reading the yellow on red, but it is probably my vision. Am I the only one commenting on that? I would see what black or maybe very dark green looks like. In my vision, the yellow throws out a bit of glare, but it may be my problem. I am thinking older readers may have a little trouble with it. THAT being said, the poem is PERFECTION at it finest! You should now reach up and pat yourself on the back and kick my hind end in the air for not having a six left to give you. Fantastic piece of holiday spirit.

Great! I usually do not comment on format. It is, after all, about the poem itself and yours was great! :)

While I thought your descriptions were very clever and entertaining and I think you did an interesting job of rewriting this classic poem, I read it over three times and some of your verses just don't seem to flow as well as they could. But that's just my reaction. Good luck in the contest.

This is really good and very well thought out. Through your beautiful and descriptive wording, I can see Santa Claus doing everything that you've described. I like this and think that it's a very good entry for the contest. Great job and well done!

I find this to be a well penned, solidly rhymed traditional Christmas
story in a poem. The photo-art selection is well complementing to your
holiday theme.
A pleasant contest entry.

As the fat man visits on Christmas, may you find that he leaves you with more than coal in your stocking which you hung on the fireplace mantel.

This well-written, slimmed-down (shorter lines) version of the popular Christmas poem is fun and appealing and makes good use of specific details to get Santa and his observer through this amazing night.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

-Very nice image
and presentation, Willie.
-A well written poem
based on "The Night Before Christmas."
-It flows well with very
good description.
-You describe Santa very well.
-But that wasn't all-
you heard a noise and ran
outside, and magically,
"A puff of smoke
Had taken the shape
Of reindeer and a tiny sled."
-A very good verse.
-A very nice ending, too!
-A good entry; good luck
in the contest, ho, ho, ho!
