Well done. It's difficult to tell a story in six words, even harder to evoke an emotion in so few, you did both. The older I get, the more "crapola" seems to fit in my life. Take care and watch out for toothpicks on the sidewalk, they're easy trip over. Go well.

I have entered this contest, but have no idea what to say. So, I'm checking out the entries to see the proper approach. Your entry certainly says a lot. You've got the fall, the cussing, and the only possible conclusion that you could have used. Unless your character died of course. I like your ending better, harsh as it is.
I'm having fun with this. You have captured life as a senior citizen. Well done. Thanks for not killing your character.

Never give up, we always can turn over a new leaf, grow a beard, add tattoos and go into the witness protection program or just live life as it is thrown at us, cold water and all

How could we go on if we didn't think something good was going to happen?

Ugh! scary story and I will stay away from that part, if the winter lets me:) Other wise I will hear too:"Kerplunk! Bam! Broken bones, surgical repairs." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

This is a solid entry to the contest. It fulfills all the requirements, including managing to avoid being poetry. The six words create a strong image of hip or knee replacement, and the author has made good use of the extra words allowed in the descriptive sentence to add the detail to the landscape.

This tells a whole story without the details--but we all know them and don't need them!
Maybe replace either "kerplunk" or "bam" with something indicating pain--ouch, s**t, crunch, or the like--since the two words have similar meanings.
Good choice of a picture here.

Hello mystery Writer. You presented a graphics description of what happens when we topple over. Your comment about Humans being fragile is quite true. Good luck in the contest.

A very well-written six-word story about an accidental breaking of bones that need urgent surgical repairs to get the one up and running around again.
