Hi Janet. That is a very nice commemorative written for Dean. In the three months I've been here, I never had any interface with him. I didn't read have his position as a significant contributor here. Z

I didn't realize you have only been here three moths. Your writings are so good!

Wow!! That's such a nice thing to say Janet. That is a huge compliment and it humbles me. I have published some of my political and cultural satire and observations before but until I started here, no one ever saw my creative writing. I actually like writing political and cultural commentary very much. Thank you again for your kind words. Z

Many thanks for your tanka tribute to Dean. I learned of his passing from Country Ranch Writer's post and was not aware that he had been ill. He will be greatly missed. We will mourn in a "cold wind"- Joan

I like the choice of saying farewell - when someone special is gone a cold wind blows - the spirit of that person will still be around for a while watching over family and friends. Thank you for sharing.

I know what you are saying. I often didn't quite understand his works, but I did see the the gift he had. Whenever he reviewed something I had written I always felt special ... especially if he gave me six stars (smile). My prayers are with his family and friends and know he has now found the rest and peace he was always seeking. Thank you for this tribute. Loren

He was a great writer, but most importantly, a very kind human being. His reviews were always fun and thoughtful.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful tribute.

S.,

Hey, girl. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the loss of our friend, Dean. He was truly special and a gifted writer.

The problem is that your color choices of font and background are too close and can't be distinguished from one another. Can you edit??? Thank you!

I went back and fixed it, Robyn. (I noticed the advanced editor doesn't actually display the color choices made when setting the posting up. It mostly goes to grey instead of the colors like lavender, green, blue, etc.) At least it gets posted, however. In most cases, the colors are optional. It is very nice of you to start this memory book for Dean Kuch.

This is an excellent example of a tanka. My favorite was the last line. How true that it chills us to think that someone we love is now deceased. I enjoyed reading this poem.

Thank you for a fitting tribute poem, short and sweet. I did not know Dean Kuch's work really, either. How gracious of you to do a short tribute/elegy in a kind, general way. I get long 'o' assonance in 'cold' and 'blows' in the last line. Thank you for posting!!!

Your lovely review is very much appreciated, my friend. Tanka isn't supposed to rhyme, but poetic elements like assonance are still a plus. Contemporary tanka has been my favorite form for years...but I like a lot of the others as well. I hope you're having a great weekend! XOXO Janet
