I didn't understand: "you're packing?" What does that mean exactly? The dialogue seemed natural enough, although there seems to be a little bad temper and intimidation here, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly. Like packing a suitcase? That's what he;s doing. The picture is a metaphor how alike we can be, yet so different. All best. Ulla:)))

Very good piece of writing indeed. I enjoyed it! LOL I wish you all the very best of luck in the contest! What else can I say? I don't know. Except that I didn't see any errors or edits needed. I "fink" that's it for now!
All the best,
Jan

This story, Differences, presented as dialogue, finds Jonas on his way out of this situation and out on his own. His friend seems to rub him the wrong way. He's on to a different ice floe.

Very funny little dialogue, Ulla. It sounds very natural.
I also like the characters, they are both quite temperamental.
Good luck in the contest. You deserve it.

Good story for the contest. Interesting how a person can use dialogue only. I wish you good luck in the contest. Hmmm - how do you tell if a penguin is packin'? Story reads well.

I think the dialogue comes off as crisp counterpoint, it is actually pretty poetic, very musical, in these mirror image lines. We feel these two characters playing tennis with each other through dialogue. I think its a good exercise for you to learn how to handle that dialogue. estory

Hahahaa. Very clever and true! This reminds me of a story my mother told about a friend she had who was Pennsylvania Dutch. She had commented to her once about her syntax, and the woman replied, "We'uns don't talk funny; you'uns do."
Good luck with the Dialog Only contest, Ulla! And thank you for the dedication...and what led to it. xo

Thank you so much, Rachelle. I love your reference to your mother's friend. So true isn't it? Ulla xx

It's spot-on! We're all normal when we're within the confines of our own tribe!

That is so true, Ulla. People have different dialect and in some cases only miles apart. According to their ethnic or financial status. Well done, dear. You say a lot in just a few lines. Nancy:)

Wow, thank you so much, Nancy, and for the lovely extra star. I'm so pleased. I thought of Britain when I lived there back in the nineties and into the new millennium. It amazed me that different dialects were spoken only a few miles apart. Thank you so much again, Nancy. A hug. Ulla xx
Comment from Phyllis Stewart
Sounds like Jonas is going home, but from where? Home could be anywhere from South Africa to New Zealand to Argentina to Antarctica. Those are also probably the only places penguins vacation if they're too old to lay eggs and have six figures in their 401k's. Or maybe the more adventurous ones go to the far north just to see the polar bears they keep hearing about. Anyway, I hope Jonas had fun on his vacation. :)

Thank you so much, Phyllis. The pinguins was a metaphor. They look exactly the same but turns out to be so different. All best. Ulla:)))
