An entertaining post. I watch so many British TV shows that driving on the left side looks right to me. I always keep to the right in going upstairs. Where I live, the sidewalks usually aren't too crowded, so where to walk isn't a problem. That sign is good to remind people to keep on the correct side. I can't believe how preoccupied some people can be with their cell phones. People have been known to fall into fountains because they haven't been paying attention. I agree that for safety's sake it's best to keep on the same page in these public places. judi

Thanks, Judi, yep appreciate your lovely review. I had planned on doing this some time ago and when I saw the sign at the city station I knew it would go with what I wanted to write. Sasha's recent post reminded me I wanted to post on that too.

I often think about the word Jay walking when driving near pedestrians walk ways. Would you know where the word comes from. The Jay bird perhaps? Thanks for sharing

Maybe it is the shape of the letter turning back on itself? I will do a study on English and let you know if I find anything. Thanks for the lovely review, mate.

I never even thought about putting lights in the ground. What? lol. I look up at stop lights and intersections. lol. I'm probably one of those you're referring to as looking down as they walk...oh well.

I think you're probably expecting too much, I don't think Sasha complains about things like that, I saw a young couple spending a "romantic" in a restaurant I was at, they ordered, and then they both settled down to...examine their iPhones. Well done Geoff, blessings, Roy

Well, I guess this was more of a rant than a Ramble I guess. I got the Ramble Idea from her anyway. She is a good mate. I snitched her Groot as well, I love him. Thanks for coming by Bro.

"Go with the flow" is right mate but it is a bit like politics these days...we have a Fed election coming up and I feel like it will go like our State one we just had where minor groups got a foothold because of discontent with the major parties. ie no flow hehe. We will end up like Italy one day a parliament full of splinter groups. How did I get on that? Hehe! Now where is that Epilogue.

Coming up in the morning, Champ!

An interesting rant. I can't say that it bothers me too much what side of the pavement people choose to walk, and if mobile phone users walk into lamp posts that's their lookout - or failure to look out. However, I am infuriated by people who block both sides of escalators so that they can't be passed - especially when I'm in a hurry!

Yep for sure. Ignorance mate. Thanks for being number 2 reviewer.
Comment from Sasha
I agree, it was a stupid idea to change the traffic signals to accommodate the people preoccupied with texting on their phones. I think they should issue tickets for people walking across the street using their phones. I got a real kick out of this one.

Thanks, mate, you inspired it again although I had been wanting to do something for ages that Keep Left Sign at the city trains stop was such a welcome sign!

I got a real kick out of it too.

I don't think they did it yet. I hope they won't.

Once again, I enjoyed reading your ramble. Thank you for sharing.
in the shopping centres and other places, how folks will continually be walking on the wrong side. (wordy - try will continually walk on the wrong side)
it would also be the fact that folks that have come from other countries, may have become conditioned to "keeping to the right!" (omit the second have)
That said, I can't help feeling it is just plain inconsideration and laziness on the part of a lot of folks, (I think inconsiderate fits better here)

Thanks for your rant/ramble. Yes, it is a very dangerous thing that people are not paying attention when they walk!
"but this is an area to set in concrete to be messed around." (perhaps "not" to be messed around?)
