A fitting tribute to your cherished son. The reason for the four is that I struggled to find much rhyme. Also you used the word together twice in this work which is too short, only my opinion, to allow this to happen

Thanks for your review of "My Son". Your honesty is appreciated. The word "forever" is used in different stanzas. Some poems use the same word in every stanza. the rhyme pattern is the second and fourth line in each stanza. Son/fun, tall/all, above/love, men/friend.

Your poem is simple and direct, and oozes love and pride. Your rhymes all work well. If I had to suggest anything, it would just be to leave space between stanzas, for the visual effect.

You're a lucky man. I have a close relationship with my daughter but, at this age, she doesn't want to admit it. However, it shows every time she needs comfort, or to share exciting news.

Yes, I well understand your affection for your son. I have two sons that are in someways similar and in other ways, not so much. But I love them both equally and I would never want to be put in a position where I would have to choose between the two, because I could not. This is a very sincere and endearing poem and you deserved this win. Best wishes.
