The longevity of a relationship depends upon mutual consideration and communication. Some "love" is infatuation. It doesn't last. Some partners get lazy or aren't stubborn enough to weather the bad times. Failed relationships are sad. But there's life after a relationship ends. And it's as happy as a person wants it to be. Great job. :) Nancy

Hi

This is an excellent written poem. It sounds like a short lived relationship. Two dreams of once a long happy marriage and a picket fence and a bubs, turned to dust. Great job.

Regards
Tia

Well stated, Susan. From my experience the handwriting is on the wall when it's over. It's because only one may be trying to make it work and/or both. Marilyn

Yes, I believe you're right. We often pursue relationships even when we know it's not meant to be. Great job on this 5-7-5, best of luck in the contest.

MERRY CHRISTMAS NASSUS 1957: I like your posting here in that it is brief, clear, and to the point. Here you tell a lifetime story in just a few words and just three lines. That's really clever. Thank you for sharing. God bless you and yours. Cordially: rhonnie69.

Hello there, my friend. Yes, indeed, you're absoulutely right, you can either feel the connection or you don't. "two dreams lay unborn" nice line. Great 5-7-5.

Reading the description line, I hope it's not to be taken literally!

Yes, I believe you're right. We do know when a union is doomed to fail; and somewhat stupidly, often we pursue it anyway.

A nicely penned 5-7-5, best of luck in the contest.

when love flies...it probably wasn't meant to be, or it would take root and flourish :) Great 17 syllable reminder, dear. It's presented smoothly with an excellent premise. This is thought provoking and poignant. Good luck in the contest.

Sounds like a love that went dry. It's never easy but it's a little easier when it's felt on both sides. It's hard when one person just says the love isn't there anymore. Hopefully, they were both able to find love.

I love the few words it takes to describe this tense situation. Your illustration is perfect for this poem. I like the line "His goodbye kiss forgotten". Keep writing.
