Oh goodness! What have been watching lately? Actually, I think the picture is kind of cool. We were just at a museum yesterday and part of it was dedicated to sci-fi. I think you should have learned the alien's language and befriended it. Lol.
Agree totally that it's important to resolve a bad dream.

Another most imaginitive story in a poem Pam. This creative imagination that you have knows no bounds does it. Things don't have to happen to you, but your incredible imagination takes you places we mere mortals can't. Well done my friend, blessings, Roy

Thank you Roy. I have always had a good imagination. When I was seven and eight, I had a younger sister who was afraid to go to sleep. I would pretend to pull a book from a wall heater and make us a story until she went to sleep. Usually stories about cartoon characters. Thanks for the great review

love the picture, Pam reminds of my Uncle Hermy. that was a lie, it looks more like Aunt Phyllis. I really like your writing here, very original and imaginative. and you bring home the great feeling you get when you survive (or even win) a nightmare. great....................meeshu the 6six6 is for the great language!

A little bit on the dark side for you Pam, nice : ) I am no stranger to nightmares friend, I used to suffer from sleep paralysis a a child, teen and into my young adulthood. You know what terror feels like then Pam. I got to be unafraid of normal nightmares and would always try and see them through But the night terrors... No thank you. I must say I had been hit by a car when I was Two and a half years old, broke most of the bones in my body and was in a coma for days. I haven't had an episode for a good 15 years now(touch wood) and rarely have nightmares.
Great little stroll into the darker side of poetry ; )

Hello Pamusart
I'm glad your poem of how you can put your nightmare to bed
Is quite clever and you made it so with your way of rhyming, like this part--
Just when the monster runs right in.
I shoot him dead and so I win.

I wake with wide and open smiles.
I feel I've walked a thousand miles.
Though tired I know this dream is gone.
I'm giddy from this high I'm on.
I know I took a real big chance,
but now my thoughts are free to dance.
My future sleep won't have that fear.
Gert

I do hope the scary monster wasn't you husband. I must say I am not really into nightmare poems but yours was very entertaining. Have a nice day. Love Jen.

This is truly a nightmare and more stress than a game of chess! He he he that made me smile, if I saw that creature I think I would pull the trigger! Sometimes dreams or nightmares can keep people awake, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly. Most of my nightmares involved falling where the elevator broke and plunged. I wake up before it hits bottom. Thanks for the great review

This is a powerful message relating to suicide and mental illness. I am personally familiar to both. The dram of the monster probably recurs frequently. The Rhythm of the verses are excellent. You seem to have been personally involved in some way to the subject. Insomnia could be the monster to kill. I love your style. Excellent job.

Yep. Dale. I suffer from real bad insomnia and almost never get REM sleep. Thank you for your lovely review. Thank you especially for the extra star. I really appreciate it.

and when I wake I start to scream. I - I think the 'I' here is a straggler.

Well now, aren't you the imaginative one. This was, dare I say, horrifyingly real? My sister used to have one similar. In mine, I'm just running from a rapist ... sigh. I think I watch too much ID tv. This one was strongly rhymed, well crafted, picture was suitable to the horrifying story, and yeah, another fine piece. Pace was well established and steady. How bout we pen something bout fairies and pixie dust.... just a thought. I probably won't sleep tonight, LOL. No clowns!

Haha. Good one and fun to read. Janelle

This is quite the nightmare/dream! What an interesting photo. Did you find it first and get inspired to write the poem or vice versa? You did such a wonderful job of describing the details and events of your story/dream. I love the fact that I believe there's such a deeper meaning to you in the words... gun rights? ...facing fears? So many issues addressed--leaves the reading pondering.

I wrote the poem first and then found the photo. Yeah I was not sure I wanted to include a gun. I suppose I could have used a sword. Thank you for the excellent review
