This is a wonderful tribute to your father, I'm sure that wherever he is he's very proud of you. I understand your feelings as I lost my father at age 15, and it was the most devestating event of my life. We were close and he went far too young(54), so your poem resonates with me. This is a lovely heartfelt poem and I thank you for sharing.

This poem gives me chills and now I too miss your dad. He sounded to be a very good role model. The poem also invites emotions to when I lost my grandparents. I still miss them every day. Such Powerful writing.

Have a great Weekend!

This is a wonderful poem, Christine. Your dad sounds like a most thoughtful and considerate man. How lovely that you and he worked writing poetry together. No wonder you are so good at it. :)

A very nice tribute. :)

Hello Christine,
What a wonderful poem, enough to make a star smile.
You have maintained the family tradition of writing poetry very well.
It would be interesting to read one of his poems,
perhaps post one side-by-side with your own.
Interesting art work to match your words
Well done
Robert

What a beautiful tribute to your father, Christine. I have to agree with you that he is watching over your shoulder as you write. If he was your mentor regarding poetry then he is smiling proudly at your work because you do so well. It is distinctive, clear to read and understand and has a great rhyme pattern. Just a thought-if you have his writings perhaps you could have them published as a further tribute or if not enough for a book make it a combined effort-a father/ daughter project. Very well done, thank you so much for sharing. Mental hugs.
