You did really well with this one, Robina.
I have one suggestion to possibly make it even better.
I always blamed his age
then he always raged. (Then he would fly into rage)
This way, it rhymes perfectly with (age)
Hope things are getting better for you.

Your story echoes for many of us. Fortunately, my many ailments are not life threatening. I appreciated your rhymed couplets as well. Take good care of yourself and best wishes in the Story Poem contest- Joan

It is the waiting that is so unfair because we want progress and answers now. Very well done, rhyme and flow and telling a storythat is too true

I read through your poem and I have to admit to being a little confused by your closing line.
Nothing gets fixed with wealth?
My mind wanted to read
Nothing gets fixed without wealth
All the best in the contest

I hope Robert's surgery goes well.
Lines 9 and 10 should rhyme but they do not.
Good luck in the story poem contest.

Nicely written. I like how the poem flowed and the message it provides, 'money isn't everything' (at least that's what I take from it). The writing was a little hard too read though (maybe make it a little darker)? Just a suggestion, otherwise I really enjoyed the read. Nice job! Thank you for sharing and best wishes in the contest. You are so right, Wealth cannot buy back health. It seems as we age the body just falls apart and they can try at great expense to fix things, knees, hips, hearts and other parts.
But what do we really get in the end maybe a couple of years, but often it is only a few months. Seems to me the more sensible thing to do is just give us something to make us a free of pain as possible for the rest of our lives. Patricia

I'm glad you can still keep enough humor on call to help mitigate some of your concern for health issues. I hope your government had universal health coverage. We're praying for your best outcomes.
