Hi, Treischel,
Congratulations that thy seed not vanish from this Earth. My best to Mother and Daughter. May Belle's life be always as light and gay as this poem. This is an excellent song celebrating the birth of a new life. The rhyme and meter are superb and the telling of the story from the mother's point of view excellent. "more precious than a cultured pearl" an excellent metaphor as is all of the figurative language.

Congratulations on the new great grand daughter. She is so prefect and I know she is going to be a blessing to the family. I will be getting a great grand daughter in late August or early September. I am excited. Blessings for a good day.
Copy this poem and give it to your grand daughter.
Across The Room
When you look across the room,
And see your daughter smile,
Why not stop everything,
Just to play with her a while?
For all too soon the years,
May take her to a distant place,
And many will be the days,
You'll long to see her face.
Don't let those precious years,
Slip by until she's grown,
To take some time to cherish her,
And make your love well known.
For as you strive to love her,
The way God wants you to,
You'll build such precious memories,
That she'll show her love to you.

A beautiful double, inter-rhymed octogram for lovely baby Belle Rose, so delightfully pictured. What a joy! Centering of lines works well here, and the background fits the photo's colors with good contrast for the text. Superb.

You are welcome. You certainly earned the six with that one. I give out lots of fives to good work that I like. If such a piece is near-flawless technically and really moves me as well, then it gets a six (unless I have already used my quota for the week, as there is so much awesome talent here on FS). -- Mike

That was just an awesome poem Treischel, Belle Rose is such a unique, and old fashion sounding name. She is just a charming little thing; you should be very proud, and what a gift of word you have given her. Someday she will share her poem with all that will read. Great Grandpa Treischel! Write On! VaV-VOOM!

A beautiful poem for a beautiful child. Is this the first? It does not really matter as they all are special in their own way. It is great that you can usher her birth in with such a wonderful tribute. She is going to love her name when she grows up as it is unique. Great job and congratulations.

Congratulations Grandad! What a way to to start out in the world with an octogram for company composed by grandad. She can't fail. I bet that won't be the last poem composed in her honour. This is lovely.
