This is a delightful poem for the kiddies. You chose your rhymes well, which only serves to enhance the reading experience.
In addition, it's also educational. Children are always interested to learn about animals. Nicely done. Hugs, Lou

What a fun children's poem you have penned. It flows well, and made me chuckle as I thought of younger days clambering up trees.
These lines really make me smile and brought back great memories.
Then I heard my dear mother as she called to me
So I quickly climbed down from my favorite tree.
Thanks for sharing, and good luck in the contest.

An absolute excellent photo of a squirrel that complements your poem perfectly. I wondered whether it was you in the tree or the squirrel, but I think you. You saw many things that day. Then your mother called. Nice AABB rhyme which is so suitable for kids. Best wishes for the contest.

That is a sweet poem. I am sure children would love it, as well as "the young in heart" adults. The images of different wild life in your favorite tree make the poem come alive. Well done.

"My Favorite Tree" is an exceptionally well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. To have such a tree would be Heaven. It was a true pleasure to both read and review a work of this standard.

A play ground of love
That teaches life gives
Space to the other
In the tree that does live
So the lesson moves
As the creatures share
The life that hold dear
The same tree to be one

You have a nice little poem here. The child has wonder, terror, and then joy as the day in the tree ended with mom a calling. Brings you back to the joys of childhood and how simple life is as a child.

I was ten and about fifty feet up a white oak and my mom yelled at me.
I yelled back and she invented a word. "What the flooster are you doing up there?" I came down straightaway...good rhymes for reading to kids.
