This Soni is sure bossy. I think this must be a alter ego story...the best kind. And she complains a lot. So she has been falsely accused and had a few thing stolen and can't trust anyone, in the end she will find love..or lust...or a little of both....she should read the end of the book before she starts carping earlier on.
And those dogs...too smart. How they don't ever stop to scratch. Maybe a story about fleas is not that interesting, so scratch the scratching suggestion.
Mostly I want to know who their cell phone carrier is. I can't get reception in the middle of the city or in the bucolic surroundings. These two can get it anywhere. Jim probably has his bookie on speed dial. Those Feds always have to have one vice and his certainly isn't being overly aggressive with Soni. Please spare us and don't make him gay.
And how come Grandfathers are always wise. How come no one ever says, "This is what my grandfather says, but don't pay attention to that, he was never too bright." ? Should be a question mark in there somewhere, but as you know, I am not be on punctuation. I am more of a punctuation free spirit. Punctuation-Bohemian.
Then, to top it all off, Ms Psychic Soni says they need to leave because she has a "feeling," no, a "gut-feeling." (This from the woman that sends the dogs out to bring back McDonald's, or whatever it is they were going to retrieve.
The ending is suspenseful and it makes me want to know what is going to happen next. The real question is does Jim have enough "knuckles" to stand up to Soni's Ouija board and take charge, or will he just cave in....like the rest of us do when a woman is involved.......
I wish there was a seven because I like dealing in prime numbers.

Punctuation-Bohemian. I agree, LOL) Once again I love your review. It's much more interesting than my story. I think Jim is about ready to take Soni over his knee.

The one problem I have with the piece is the use of ****. Those symbols are usually used for POV shifts. Specifically for POV shifts that go over onto another page. But there aren't any POV shifts in the story. The **** are unnecessary. Otherwise nice job.

Cute scene with the dogs. It would be cool to have such a pair to keep things under control. Soni feels danger but doesn't know where or what, and so she changes their plans.
