I like how you show that the deceased is no longer suffering, and that funerals are for the living more than for the dead. The rhyming works and the poem flows well. Good luck in the contest!

Excellent poem! When I first read the prompt for this contest, this is the kind of poem I envisioned myself writing. I'm glad that you posted this, it carries a different perspective and imagery than what is expected of a funeral. Excellent work!

The poem 'Metamorphoses' is truly spiritual as it creates a connectivity between the dead and the living. The use of literary techniques as oxymoron, end rhymes make me enjoy it the more. The flow is smooth! Good luck

If it were possible to be one like without a body that would have been nice. Truthfully speaking funeral gatherings are like wedding. The last sentence I loved most ' funerals are for the living'. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting, yes funerals are events so the living may honor the memory of the dead. You are also right, it will come to us all though we try not to admit that simple fact. Well done.
