Hi Writingfundimension,

Excellent building up toward the big confrontation, great dialogue and terrific look back with Ty to give the story of the Soul Stealer. Excellent little scene with Fr Brian preparing himself for the confrontation.

Good chapter, well worth the six.

It appears that it will all come together soon. I hope Tony is okay. It was awful to hear what happened to his pet dog. I would think he would keep the dog as evidence. There might be some clue of who murdered it left behind.

Another riveting read, dear Bev.

The flashback into Ty's past is touching - enables your reader to see into his heart - makes him more human, somehow.

I'm rooting for Jana and the priest!

Superbly done - as always - my dear friend.

Lots of love,

xxx

Sonali :)

beneath the bed's quilt .. how about .. beneath the quilt ..? - it's understood, I think that the quilt is on the bed

Ty was afraid to breathe lest he break the moment's spell... the spell of the moment ..?

I enjoyed your mood establishing title, especially after I learned that the term means "dreamer". I also appreciated learning about why it is important to many Native Americans not to speak the name of a dead person. Your references to the devil dog myths were intriguing as was your focus on the conflict Jana experienced between her job as the white man's law enforcer and her Nation's own laws. Cheers- Joan

Dear Bev - fascinating work and what powerful writing - I can feel completely scared when I am enjoying the story....now though its getting dark so I am just getting this one in under the cover of twilight. Excellent imagery, fascinating undertones of what Ty knows and uses to his advantage.
I enjoyed it-
Thanks for sharing it.

This is well written and an interesting read. It starts off strong and you hold the readers attention throughout.

One suggestion would be to change Sam's last name...that last name will make anyone who is familiar with the world of Harry Potter think of Peter Pettigrew, unless that is what you were going for.

Hey, thanks so much, JJ. I have not read any of the Potter stories, so you've definitely got the advantage - good suggestion. Thanks! Warm regards, Bev

"Uncle Tony's disgust..." << typo - you forgot the quotation mark at the beginning of this part of the dialogue.

Ah Bev, this is just so incredibly good, and your characters are so real - I could use a visit from your Father Brian right now...that light would be MOST welcome...what a gift you have, my friend...

You know I'm right. Your book is amazing, and as a matter of fact, that 'devil dog' has had media play not all that long ago.

Really, Dawn?? Where did you see that? We have the myth of the dogman here in the Northern woods of Michigan. Underneath every myth, I believe, there's a solid truth. XXX

Really. It was a clip - news station I think - I forget just where (which station and the location) but it was shown a few times, and the animal in question wasn't a wolf or coyote. They said they'd had many reported 'sightings' through the years.
reply by the author on 07-Apr-2014
Oh, I think maybe that's the (sp) chupacabra or something like that. Yes, in Mexico it's been sighted many times. One lady shot one and had it stuffed. It was a very strange dog-like creature with an alligator snout and very sharp teeth. I don't know why scientists waste their time trying to dismiss these things. It makes perfect sense that there's going to be crossbreeding. I mean, look at what happens sometimes when two humans get together!!!

Your story is still alive with suspense as Father Brian, Tony Buday and Edward Pearce are about to meet at one point in your story, as the abduction of Tony will eventually lead to it. The plot thickens but I believe, the story is progressing to a finish this time. An excellent tension packed story.

Certainly six star excitement in this. Ty's remembrances of the devil dog and what his mother told him about it are really interesting. He and Jana are both determined to do everything possible to rescue Tony. Another interesting point about Jana thinking that her first loyalty was to the Sioux Nation. Edward is demanding Father Brian in exchange for Tony. Father Brian has made arrangements for his dog to be left with Mrs. Findley, and he seems to be willing to help the police do whatever is necessary to rescue Tony. judi

Congrats on winning story of the month. I'm certainly not surprised as the story line gets thicker and thicker. Jana has tough decisions to make on how to balance her loyalty to the Nation and also to her job. Good job. I can feel the tension building.
