Very well said, Mr.. T, and so true. I look at my own kids and it seems only yesterday that I was showing my daughter how to peddle her bicycle, or my son how to properly put a night crawler on a fishing hook. Now, it's on to showing my lovely little girl how to properly shift a manual transmission, and my son, he has his own life outside the home.

As you've so eloquently pointed out here in your touching poem, teach and show your kids love and respect. Teach them to read, by reading to them. If you simply yell at them to get off the damn PS3, and read a book, yet they never see you reading? They won't be obliged to listen. We teach by example. We set the precedents for our children through our own actions. Just love them...that's all.

Truly a important message...truly...now a days these children are of a different "brand"...as what I call "new aged parents" raise children as there friends....I find it sad...as parents don't have any guidance and just as lost as the child...excellent poem.

Wonderful!
All too soon the young grow into independent adults, time spent with them is so very, very treasured, as so well-expressed in a heartfelt writing. My daughter has only one more year to complete before she leaves for college--seems like just yesterday she was entering kindergarten. Time passes much too quickly.

Hi Tom,

This one has far too many memorable lines for me to pick just one or two. I love them all!

Your title is definitely engaging and the lesson of this wonderful poem, that begins with those three perfect words, is incredibly important.

This little poem carries a powerful message and you are the the very best one to herald it since Stephen Stills penned "teach your children" all those years ago....sigh

I love "they grow up"!

Peace, hugs and lots of smiles
and my respect....

Love,
Jill

A very nice Mike's Touch poem Tom. You did really well with it and I appreciate the effort. A beautiful idea to treat your children well as the grow up too fast.

Lovely photo you made again that complements your poem very well. I spotted Gungalo's one earlier. I liked how you used it to tell all how to share and teach your children.
