Amen to that! Those who have never tried, have never succeeded either, and only when we fail do we truly learn anything and grow from the experience. At least, the OPPORTUNITY is there to learn!
Great piece, gets my vote!
Sincerely,
Curt

What a sweet little face she has. She is a trooper
then. You have well utilized this senryu writing
form with some encouraging comments to those of us
who give up easily rather than giving it our best.
I have days like that, too!

I get the general sense of this one - and the delightful photo of Camille is smashing - but the last line really isn't very clear yet. I know what you're trying to say - no pun intended - but the end result is a bit confusing if taken literally (which I do). "But they at least tried" perhaps would be clearer?
also "those that try" - should really be "those who try" as we're talking about people, not things ... people use who/whom, things use that/which, yes?

A lot of truth written in this 5-7-5 poem. A wonderful tribute to your younger sister, I can sense your admiration for her through use of your words. It seems like we can take some inspiration from Camille. Good luck in your contest.

I like the message and sentiment of your poem. The first two lines are very good. I might possibly think about the third line in a slightly different way. Maybe..... 'at least they have tried'.... It's hard to squeeze in all the thoughts you might want to include on a 5-7-5, words are so limited!
Your sister is a great example of courage... she might succeed, she might not, but at least she attempts things. Good for her and lovely poem. :-)

This was a nice, inspiring piece. The addition of the photograph and your explanation really helped my reading of it. It's great to have an inspirational sibling, which you and I have in common.

Great photo, love those green socks. It's true at least you have to try through life. A good life lesson in your 5 -7-5 and a cute pic of your sister.

True words and a very inspiring poem that is well written with good word choices. Reminds me of something I read once, "better to have tried and failed than to not have tried at all". well done.

It starts out well. Those that try may fail. That is true.

It stays good, They will be mocked, ridiculed. Still good. It is true that some people will try and fail and others will mock them for their efforts.

Then my brain freezes on the last line But they would have tried.

I can't get it to make sense in my head. I am sure there is a clever catch there that I am missing, but it just doesn't puncture the fog of my brain.

Either I am having one of those brain freeze moments or the last line could be more clear.

Thanks for sharing.

This is a very strong piece of writing . It is motivational, inspirational and philosophical. Indeed we lose nothing by trying and may gain all things in the process. kudos
