Your rhyme is perfection and the beat is constant without fail. The image you paint with your words reminds me of my past as I strolled along the beach at St Thomas. Thanks for the memory revisited.

I miss the seals that hug the rocks
and flap their dorsal fins << Seals do not have dorsal fins... only fish do. Seals are mammals... no fins on their backs.

to wade the silky surf and feel
the coolness on their feet. << Should say MY feet, shouldn't it? Nature has no feet, and it's equal with friends in the sentence, so THEIR must apply to BOTH
The meter here is excellent! Very well written. Just those two things need to be changed, I think. :)

You are so right Phyllis... I mis-named the fin I was talking about. It is a caudal fin. Dorsal fins are on sharks and also some oceanic mammals, but not the seals. I appreciate your two suggestions very much. Thank you for taking the time to point these out to me. MM
