I remember when I started here, I wondered about the same thing and I asked Tom WHY he posted the "number of views" and not JUST the "reviews" and his answer was that most people like to see it! ... WHO are those people??? I LOVED this. It's perfectly rhymed and metered of course, but your message is clear and hilarious at the same time. I could quote every line, but got a huge laugh with "Did I not mention meadow? Or gossamer thread?" As a matter of fact I loved that whole verse AND all those before it and after it until the VERY clever final summation line!!!

Wow, the big one! LOL Thanks Jude...I am not hung up on this but have often wondered and I agree Jude...who the f**k wants to see that? Your review was a charmer and I got some great comments on the gossamer line! Haha...funny how noone that writes about that reviewed this! Heehee...well, not to my knowledge.

I've wondered that myself, so it is good fodder for a poem. I do read works that I don't review, do you? I don't like to give low marks. I know that's not helpful for a writer, but I like to give constructive criticism and sometimes, I'm not sure how I'd explain, or maybe it's just not my type of thing. Thanks Marci and we can't get to everything I guess but I am sure there are a proportion of misses that may just not have been misses...plus the extra folio hits when there is nothing paying is the real compliment.

I agree with your assessment and, true, when people read from the portfolio for a small or no payout, you have to be flattered that they liked something you wrote enough to browse your portfolio :) No worries about catching up. What a lovely review. Thankyou rita. Yes, if you see a couple of bad words...that is very tolerant of you to look past them and at the creativity of my piece. Not everyone does that. All writers are different and no one can be pigeon holed. You inspire me to continue saying what I think, hopefully without treading on too many toes. Have a great day.

If you look at my profile, I have over a hundred "fans" but I end up having maybe about ten who read my postings. Did they abandoned me or the site? Has my writing gone down hill? Or have they just lost interest? We'll never know. I guess we just have to keep on writing.

I love "did I not mention meadow or gossamer thread. I wonder who on earth you could be thinking of - perhaps lol. Discretion forbids me proffer any names here. As I scroll through and troll through" is right up my alley, internal rhyme wise and I think the line, "they just liked what I wroted" was cute as and the final line is a little beauty. In a word, SIX. Hopefully that will help ease the pain of too many views compared to views. This is the Closet I know and love doing what she does the best. xxx Pix

I love made up words for the sake of a poem Closet though I actually got pulled up for doing just that in a recent post. I just posted The Arrogant Poet and the reviews for it so far have been hysterical. Yes, worth remembering--I recently received a six as a first review, followed by a two! I usually find that if my ratio of reviews to hits is better than fifty percent, my poem is well received. I liked your continuing sports' analogy with the title and picture choice. I enjoyed your clever and stretched rhymes and your cadence, along with your perfect "jester credentials."
