Jonathon is certainly a soldier of fortune with you at his side every step of the way. You have been his stalwart and your relentlessness has come to you bring given the respect needed from the medical community.

God has looked out for Jonathan and you!

Oh no! Despite all your vigilance, he went sent home too soon and then had to have more procedures. Thankfully, that surgeon was willing to risk doing that draining of the lungs. That probably made it easier to recover from the Covid infection. You all were so exhausted during this time and missed on your own regular activities.

Thanks Helen for reviewing. No, his pneumonia and lung fluid had worsened to the point of needing the lung drains first, but they still didn?t know what the infection was which caused such severe build up of lung fluid.
They sent him home early because they didn?t want him to get Covid in hospital. Two weeks later he was readmitted and they discovered the bacterial problem, the initial source of illness. After fixing that, he returned home again. And then got Covid at home, a month later. Hope that clarifies.

This story is getting to me, but I will soldier on. This tale must be told. It has many lessons. I have probably said this before, but God has a special place for you, Wendy.

Jonathan, certainly is a fighter, for all he has been through and still he cops more, (your notes) the doctor and his staff should be applauded for their efforts and their willingness to try something new, and the fact they treated Jonathan like a person, which he is, a wee bit happier read, thank you for sharing this, very well done****kahpot

After all of that COVID, that's simply not fair. Thank you for, again, sharing this with us. I am amazed at your patience and strength. My prayers continue to be with you.

The on-going story of what Jonathon had to endure is encapsulated here, but I'm sure it was a long journey for you to travel day by day. I'm thankful for your caring heart.

That poor kid. He just never seems to catch a break -with the exception of his ties to you and your family. Thankful that it worked itself out and he did recover. Ah, but then there was Covid. The one that changed the world. Another fabulous chapter. Geetchen

No, he got Covid at Christmas last year. I?d better look at my ending. He wasn?t able to come to our family Christmas gathering.
    Thank you for reviewing.

Good morning, Wendy!
No one can deny that Jonathan and you were fighters through everything and without out that effort, he probably would not have been able to make it through those difficult times. It's a shame that so many that claim to be in the medical field to help...really don't try very hard. Glad you finally found the good ones.
Smiles, Carol

Eight pints of fluid in one lung? That is shocking!

Tube-feeding was the ultimate solution for those "forced" to take care of Jonathan - not for Jonathan himself.

COVID impacted so many people in such a myriad of ways.

Nothing is better than forging a relationship with the ones taking care of your loved one. They are more likely to listen to, and respect, you.

I was wondering how it was possible Jonathan had caught two of the ten deadliest bacteria in the world, but missed COVID. Then I read your last sentence. Now that you've mentioned it, I believe I remember you writing about this previously?

What a tough young man he is!

Thanks for sharing, Wendy. An incredible journey for those living it and for us reading it.

No, a total of eight pints from both lungs. I just changed it to clarify. Yes, you are right. I wrote three or four stories about his situation last year while he was in hospital. This now has returned us to that point and I have filled in the backstory. Thanks so much for staying with me. I have always appreciated your reviews and encouragement. The next chapter is the last, although there may be an epilogue.
