It is filled with teenage angst. I wrote like that when I was in high school. We feel things so deeply then. Everything is monumentally important. I have books full of this stuff somewhere. Did it work out? Karen

Thanks Karen for your review. Yes it was full of teenage angst. I re-discovered this poem when looking through some old memorabilia. It was meant to be.
No, it did not work out in the long run. We still touch base. Life has moved on.

I wrote like that when I was in High School too. Only worked out for awhile. We still contact each other from time to time. But hey, we had our time. All good now.

This "first poem" was much better than the first poem I ever wrote, and it's better than most I have written since then. LOL. I liked the individual vs. couple theme. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This is really quite beautiful. Any relationship that is going to have a chance needs to have that respect for individuality that you highlight here. A beautiful picture to accompany the poem too.

This is a nice love poem. I like how you acknowledge that you and your partner are different, but are also very similar. Arguments may arise from time to time, but it is important to work through them and put love first. Great work!

Those first poems are always special. I think about mine from time to time. I can almost recite it, and that is all that's left. I don't have a copy of it written down.
